    Does anyone have any leads on a source for good rebuilt engines? Seeing roverlandparts.com selling them for 12k, which seems really steep. Labor to put it in is about 5k, give or take.

    that connector is for the battery tender that is used when the vehicle is on a boat from the UK to here. It's not needed otherwise.

    Actually I am starting to lean this way as well. Simply because the rest of the truck is in great shape and I put a lot of effort into personalizing it the way I want. So I'm exploring that option now. Part of me wants to get a rebuilt motor too. Thanks for the input.

    I thought about that but from what I've seen, engine swaps on this thing are very expensive since the body has to come off. Used engines are 5-6k, then the labor to swap it. Thinking I might be better off buying another one and then selling this one as is.

    No warning lights, just gradual loss of power followed by shut down at 65mph. After shutting down, got battery light and CEL. No codes afterwards. Will check starter too.

    After some investigation, looking at a potentially seized engine. Not good. Tried cranking it manually and it won't budge. Zero warning signs, etc.

    It was to the battery terminal. Could be bad earth strap. Is that the one in the passenger side wheel well?

    Had my first outright failure today, coming home from WV. Truck is a 2013 with 117k. Starting gradually losing power at 65-70. After less than a minute, it shut off completely while driving. CEL and battery light. Coasted to a stop and tried to restart. Won't even crank. Weird terrain selection...

    FYI fan relay went bad at 98k

    My mounts are on their last legs/probably shot but I have been holding off on this job, as I hear horror stories(one of the mounts is behind the diff, etc). Is there a good writeup anywhere? I've done mounts on plenty of cars in the past and it was simple, but apparently not the case with the D4.

    this is the first time i've seen 5w-30 specced for an LR4/Disco4. This makes me think that v6 is a completely different engine from the SC v6 that we later got.

    once again - any quality brand name(Castrol, M1, etc) 5w20 synthetic oil, and change every 5k miles. There is really nothing more to it.

    thanks, I'll start digging in later today. By any chance, do you have the replacement procedure for the solenoid anywhere in any workshop manual? I have a 2010 pdf that's not super helpful but maybe there's something better out there. Much appreciated!
