Paddle shifters not working unless in manual mode?
I just ordered a wheel from an RRS with flappy paddles and am excited to install it and be able to paddle shift in the LR4. I hope I don't have to do anything else with the GAP tool except enable the paddles in the ccf file. Anything else to keep in mind when configuring it? This is a 2013 V8.- TrinidadLR4

Control Arms
the arm itself rusts in many spots, compromising the structure. In particular, the ball joint end. It's easier just to replace the entire thing.- TrinidadLR4

Ultimate Towing Thread
Over the summer, started towing a 21ft center console Triumph fishing boat on a 2 axle trailer. Around 5000lbs wet. Tows great but trailer has no brakes so have to be careful. Upper door panel wear - Elbow
After 4 years of comfortably resting my elbow on the door, I'm dealing with this and it's getting worse. My neighbor with an LR4 has the same problem, so I am thinking it's a fairly common wear item. Looking for a decently priced 2011 LR4 engine 5.0 non supercharged
my used engine(same year, 40k fewer miles) was 6900 shipped from a dismantler on Ebay. Also consider sourcing a 5.0 engine out of a Jaguar XF, as they're apparently the same/very similar and somewhat cheaper.- TrinidadLR4

LR4 5.0 V8 - recent timing chain service with 4 new camshaft adjusters - still seems somewhat noisy??
Probably injectors. They wear and get noisy with age. When my engine was replaced with a used one, new injectors were installed as part of the procedure and the replacement engine, while having similar mileage to my old engine, is now significantly quieter. Side note: cool wheels. Black Rhinos?- TrinidadLR4

Lessons Learned Rebuilding 5.0 V8 2012 LR4 Engine
114k. Used engine has 84k on it. Still no clear answer as to why it seized, but it was jammed solid. Either catastrophic coolant loss(with no warning, exp tank was bone dry) or something else. Running great now but confidence rattled.- TrinidadLR4

After having my engine replaced due to seizure, I will argue that the aj133 is, overall, not designed to be a truck engine and is too finicky and failure-prone for hard use. I think a 5.0 Ford Coyote mill out of a recent F150 would be perfect. Since they use a 6R80 trans in the fords(which is a rebadged ZF6HP anyway), if you can get the electronics to talk, it should be relatively straightforward(on paper, at least).- TrinidadLR4

Has anyone done a big brake kit for their LR4? Questions below...
I messaged with someone on this forum a while ago who indicated that 10-13 RRS brembo calipers do indeed fit, but 20in wheels are a must. You need the black brembo calipers and 365mm rotors(i think).- TrinidadLR4

From what I understand, I need brembo calipers from an RRS SC (10-13) and corresponding rotors/pads. Also, anything else? Brake Pad Rattle Advice
The cylinder is normal and goes on the top of outer pad facing you. Not sure about the rest but pad rattles/squeaks are common enough on these, enough to make me want to do the brembo 6pot upgrade.- TrinidadLR4

So the engine got replaced in January due to seizing and until now, I never needed to use the A/C. Looks like it's blowing warm/lukewarm air on LO. I'm assuming that something happened during that major surgery and it is now low on freon(or empty). Any decent a/c shop should be able to test for...- TrinidadLR4

I just went through this after my engine seized-most likely like a slow coolant leak which I never caught, and it eventually just ran out of coolant(no warning lights).
