    Oil leak?

I believe your looking at 2000+ at the dealer. Biggest pain in the ass is pulling the injectors. They require a special puller and sometimes they stick.

That would appear to be valve cover gasket.

    Oil leak?

20-30 minutes each. vaccum pump hints: loosen and remove the bolts holding it on, then remove the push clip connector. trying to remove this connector while the pump is in place requires your wrist to twist in ways it should not. I did not need to drain my oil. some people say you do though...

    Oil leak?

^i second all of that. I had to replace my vacuum pump. I had to replace my oil filter housing gasket. I did not have to replace my valve cover, it was not leaking, but i did snug the bolts down to make sure it was sealed good.

    Oil leak?

that would be unrelated. chances are in your case, the trans fluid was not filled up properly, resulting in a a low reading. trans fill procedure is very specific for quantity and temperature, which could result in improper levels. link to bulletin...

    Oil leak?

thats a "nice" leak you have there. defintly appears to be oil. since its a good mount, it shouldn't be hard to locate the source. take a flashlight and look up as far as you can, for any signs of oil/wetness/sticky dirt accumulation.

LR4 not garaged - should it be covered?

I think your overthinking this. plenty of cars are left outside. clogged sunroof drains are not selective to Land rovers. the amount of time you would spend putting a cover on/off, and the amount of damage said cover would do to the paint...is not worth it. youd be better off cleaning the...

LR4 not garaged - should it be covered?

I have a 1 car garage, and the LR4 is not lucky enough to be the car that gets that space. So that leaves my wifes car and the LR4 that are always outside. I routinely wash and make sure the paint has a protection coating on it. As far as the sunroof drain, my new to me LR4 (purchased with...

really rough ride after installing new Toyo Open Country A/T 3 19"

Hunter Hawkeye is an alignment machine...? Definitely go to a different shop for road force balancing. Around me, it' costs nearly 2x as much, but worth it.

    Bunch of error codes. Alternator?

She is finally working again. Quick question...do I need to reset anything using the gap tool due to the new part /voltage? If yes, what menu? I can't seem to find anything except battery change. I'm getting a full 15v.

    Hood open warning not showing

I would assume that the hood switch failed, causing the car to not arm the alarm when lockng with the keyfob. the easy fix was for the previous owner to disconnect the switch. id be willing to bet a new hood switch would solve the problem...

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

It is a pipe that rots away, creating a leak, that causes a nearly immediate overheat. Once these engines overheat, they are paperweights.

Another LR4 Saved from Coolant Death

Mine appeared to be original when I replaced it at 140k. (MY11) Service records also did not indicate that it was ever changed. That said, one persons experience should not be used as a guide when the majority have issues at lower mileage. id say 60-80k is a preventative interval. 100k is...

    Bunch of error codes. Alternator?

your thoroughness is amazing. and the amount of effort you out into researching some one else's problem is much appreciated! i'm glad im not going crazy. just as your finding, the part number supercessions, cross referencing, Denso numbers, and "stock" photos on websites does not help. I spoke...

    Bunch of error codes. Alternator?

Good eye! So what I'm taking away from all this is... I received the wrong part because the box was mislabeled. I need DENSO # DAN1103 or LR065426 or LR023421G or LR091107. It is weird though that most results when googling say LR091107 does NOT fit the lr4. Very few say it will work...

    Bunch of error codes. Alternator?

Interesting. The denso box my new alternator came in has part number LR023421G on it. It is physically not a equal/interchange to LR065246...so not sure how it could supercede. Maybe Denso is making parts that aren't actually interchangeable. Very concerning since if I ask FCP to send another...

    Bunch of error codes. Alternator?

So I need some help with part numbers. According to land rover, I need part number LR65246. I order Denso LR065246 from fcp euro. After waiting 1.5 weeks, this is what they sent me. Is fcp's cross reference wrong? Mounting holes don't line up...if top bolt is in, the 2 lower bolt holes are...

(UPDATE) First Winter with the girl and...

Fyi, my 40a fuses still melted. I have a aftermarket windshield. In process of getting my windshield replaced. Maybe a different (better) brand will work better with the fuses.. A failed alternator and bad weather are delaying my appt though.

    HD vs non-HD package LR4

appreciate the explanation. to further clarify: MY10-13 2spd transfer case was standard equipment. HD package added full spare and locking diff. MY14+ removed 2psd transfer case as standard equipment. The HD package then added the 2spd transfer case, locking diff and full size spare ?
