    ive dont it a few times on my LR4. once because of working on it. 2x to fix intermittent problems....which it did fix. so actually, i find disconnecting the battery to solve more problems rather than create them. and yes, resetting the clock/time/units will happen.

    white (white-gray) is burning coolant. first guess would be head gasket, but i wasn't aware that to be a common failure on these engines. and the lack of milky oil would also suggest otherwise.

    Lol, probably just ocd. About 3/4 cup of oil between what dripped from the filter while in a container on the workbench, plus the oil i vacuumed out.

    For mechanical/moving parts i usually recommend getting oem or high quality aftermarket. For something as simple as a gasket, I'd say your safe with a cheaper aftermarket, eurospare should be fine...
