    Repeatable Vibration Issues

my first guess wodl have been tire balancing. seems you checked that off the list with road force balance. you also seem to be checking in all areas of the car. you cant determine the rough area of where its coming from? you've looked all the way form the cooling fan to the rear axle. is the...

    Heated windshield not working

this is exactly my concern. we all know Land rover doesn't have the best designed electronics. just because they recommend something, doesn't mean its actually a good fix. this seems more like a band-aid solution. the currently installed (blown) 30a fuses in my car are not just blown, with a...

    Heated windshield not working

following the advice in this thread, and the information in another once ( https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/heated-windshields.25207/ ).... i checked my fuses last night and both are blown. combined with the fact that i have an aftermarket windshield, which apparently pulls more amps, i...

    Heated windshield not working

this is the brand of my glass! ill check fuses first, and change to 40amp, regardless. if it still doesn't work, ill check the A pillar wiring connections. with any luck, i dont have to dig any deeper than that.

    Heated windshield not working

this is the first cold season Ive had with my LR4 and the heated windshield is not working. The button light on the dash illuminates when pressed, and there are no relevant errors (scanned with IID tool), but the frost is definitely not melting away. If it matters, it is not OEM glass...so its...

    Costco Mobil 0w20

forgetting about specs..i used 0w20 liquimoly in my high mileage lr4. purchased the car used with no oil leaks. about 1 month later I changed the oil within and week i developed 3 oil leaks. rear main seal, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket. replaced the filter gasket and changed...

    Diy timing chain

understood. do we all agree is sounds ok though? can I at least go by that? compared to other videoas, i hear no chain slap, but as mentioned....sound on videos can be deceiving.

    Diy timing chain

i wont discredit you opinion, but seems your the odd one out. good point about the flat head..it was the first long handle tool i saw in my drawer. i never would think a scratch on a chain could cause an issue. i applied just enough pressure so any slack was taken up. when i felt resistance...

    Diy timing chain

Thank you both! Releived and suprised to hear that. So it is possible to have "high (140k) miles with original tensioners and guides. Maybe not the norm though. Hopefully someone in the future sees those videos and can use them as a reference

105K Service // Full Schedule // Cat Replacement

https://congletonservice.com/service-schedule/LR4.pdf Air filters, oil and filter will cost just over $100. Checking fluids and tire rotation should take 30 min. Add in another $20 of any fluids that actually need to be topped off. I'd recommend spending the money on buying the stuff yourself...

    Diy timing chain

    Diy timing chain

i have a 2011 with 144k miles. i do not notice any significant noise. when i poke at the chain through the oil fill hole, i get maybe 1/8" at most of slack movement. not sure how much is too much? im well aware of the issue and that my truck falls in the range of trucks affected. im more...

    Diy timing chain

thanks for the input. id like to assume that my chain hasn't stretched, and ignore the chain replacement. when checking through the oil cap, the chain seems tight. a little slack, but nothing alarming. however, i dont know exactly how much is too much? maybe i can push it 1/8". ill get an...

    Diy timing chain

so im thinking of doing my timing chain as preventative. ive got 144k miles and while i dont think its sloppy, id sleep better knowing that it wont fail and leave me stranded. does anyone have any more info in a DIY process that is shown in that video? seems like.... remove as much as possible...

    Driver Seat Position Adjustment

i have no suggestions. but curious as to what your friend currently drives. the LR4 is spacious and im trying to think of what car may have allow for that much more room. Im 6'-3" and feel like there is plenty of room to spare.

    Tire fitment - 255/60R19 ok?

it does not fit if inflated. I tried and gave up. deflated it (almost completely) and it fit snugly. i keep a portable compressor in the car, so wasnt that concerned.

    Michilin, Goodyear or Nokian? (19")

LOL! i actually just had a conversation the other day with my friend about tires, mentioned the tires on my RS7 were nearly $400 each. he was dumbfounded and said he just purchased 4 new tires for $500. soo true. ive given up on MPG. i enjoy my cars and driving to much to be frugal over a few...

    Non OEM DVD Remote

"overcharged" would be $450 for a replacement from Land rover. seems like $100-150 is a steal for one from ebay. unfortunately almost everything on these cars comes with a "luxury tax".

Rear gate access drop. How to disable?

i think some one has already mentioned, but this is most likely not a "feature" for easy access, rather just the air suspension self leveling.

    PCV refresh/replacement

ahh, yes. didn't go back through the thread to realize this was about the v6 SC. sucks they make what should be such a simple repair, into something complicated.
