    Antigravity battery saved my ass

That's great to hear! Mine is in the cargo area waiting for its first emergency.

    LUX or HD?

Glad to hear; hope you enjoy it! I wanted HD and was going to get an HSE but since my wife really wanted to use the LR too, I thought seat memory would be a good thing, so I went for the Lux. By the way, I also have the Black package and my only real complaint is that all of the lettering is...

    Map light cover removal?

Thanks umbertob, I just might replace a few of these bulbs with your recommendation. For the map lights (driver and passenger side), I actually think the stock bulbs are too bright; they totally kill my night vision. I found an LED array that I want to experiment with but I need to modify it's...

For those who have the power folding mirrors

Huh, thanks for confirming, mbw. I always had a hunch they were different but thought it was just the angle from the driver's seat. I do find it funny that they don't really retract much...they are still wider than the rest of the vehicle (even with ridiculous side steps!) when folded.

    Map light cover removal?

I can remove the entire overhead plastic trim piece with lights and roof switch; however I cannot get the lens/cover removed. Looks fairly simple; I tried a flat blade on the side of the lens and then a small putty knife to try and pop it out, but all I get is some unhappy-sounding creaky...

    Headlight washer nozzle fix needed

Hmm...the kids swear they had nothing to do with it. In any case, the good news is that when I popped out the foglight bezel and removed the foglight, there is a small hole in the top that I could stick my finger in and press upwards to try and reseat the nozzle. The bad news is that it...

    Headlight washer nozzle fix needed

I noticed yesterday that both of the plastic headlight washer nozzles have "fallen" into my bumper. Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions on how to fix?

    Land Rover "Driver Care"

Yeah, this sounds like a dealer upsell. Was it presented by the Finance Manager? Oddly (insanely, I should say) enough, my dealer wanted about $1700 for the "super-platinum-protection package" that sounded more or less like this. I agree with others that these are mostly unnecessary. You may...

Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

I will add that I borrowed a friend's when I was trying to troubleshoot my Dad's Ford Expedition. I was very skeptical but my friend operates a landscaping company and told me he is very reliant on this little battery in the winter (I still didn't believe it would work)...well, it did. Also...

Be Your Own Spotter! Remote Controlled Land Rover App being tested

Umberto, you are so right! Both of my parents have Teslas but THANK GOD they already have them and not the new versions that will be able to drive themselves, LOL. As it is, I get weekly calls asking about how to work their iPhones...

    Well she's here!

Congrats; beautiful color! Here is my $.02 as a newbie - got my LR4 in April and have about 2500 miles now. 1) Sport mode - seems to drop one gear down no matter what speed you are going. Yes, it definitely increases the shift points upwards but I don't find it overly-aggressive...

2015 side step -- really a side impact safety feature?

It looks fairly substantial and the aluminum blocks offer solid mounting areas to the frame. Is it "safer" with the steps than without? Probably, in that it is more material...although I wouldn't give a second thought about removing it. When I originally was going to order a 2014 my plan...

    Few questions

I too thought the folding mirrors are a bit of nonsense (is it me or do they still stick out too far?). In any case, I have gotten used to it and actually find it useful as a quick visual indicator that the doors are actually locked when walking away from the car.

Roof top cargo and aftermarket racks

Wow - thanks, MBW! I have been on the lookout for a Pelican case mounting system. I was just about to start designing one myself and then I saw your post with the EO2 system (I think they need to work on their Google search keywords). I have a different application, but the idea is similar...

    Mud Flap Options

Thanks! So it looks like people just go with the Disco flaps and adapt them to the LR3/4?

    Mud Flap Options

Thanks! That looks like what I had in mind.

    Mud Flap Options

Anyone know of a mud flap besides the OEM molded splash guards? I was thinking something like you see on the Discovery; more flexible to offer some "give" rather than the rigid type.

2015 LR4 Car and Driver article

PaulLR3 and Tuscontom, you are spot on. I came out of a 2003 Suburban. I definitely wanted something smaller, but almost $70k for a new Tahoe?!?!?! Come on, GM, you can't just raise the price that much and expect to compete with the "premium" brands if you don't have the premium features -...

    Sheepskin Seat Covers?

No experience with the sheepskin on car seats...but this is typically an "immediate upgrade" for pilot and copilot seats in most mid to larger-sized aircraft. Especially when sitting for several hours, the sheepskin (which is attached to the more-important wool) prevents your pants from getting...

    Disabling 2014 ECO Switch

Good point, Soda. Remember when you had to take the KEY out of our pocket and fumble around for the ignition and THEN turn it to start the engine? Now, instead of pushing one button, you can push two for the "starting sequence" :) Eco doesn't bother me most of the time, but I agree it...

Anyone have 3 car seats in 2nd row?

I agree with Umberto on the Diono Radian RXT. I can't tell you how many strollers, carseats, and general baby/kid crap we have been through, but our "favorites" would indeed make up a very short list. The Radian RXT is on the list even though our experience with it is only very recent. It is...

Putting in a stroller while all 3 rows are in use

I may be able to help...more info please Raj1, I am on my 3rd happy week of LR4 ownership. I have three girls, ages 6, 5, and 5 and we have three car seats across the middle row. We have departed stroller territory but I still have a single Bugaboo Bee and a double City Mini stroller hanging...

2015 LR4 Car and Driver article

Thought I would chime in as a new owner of a '15 with zero experience on any previous LR versions. I just turned 600 miles this weekend and I am absolutely thrilled with everything about it. One thing I will mention is that my fuel economy is better than expected: I have been averaging mid 15s...

    Muddychef Challenge

Maybe next year I was eyeballing this and it looks like a great time, just too busy around that time this year. Also, was wondering what your air compressor "t" kit is with homemade tire inflation...sounds interesting.

    Showoff Your LR4

Yes Umbertob, three girls are wonderful, although it is very hard for them to avoid marking up the back of the front seats. I am going to have to look into some sort of protection. I actually ordered a 2014 (white and black) and then decided to postpone until this year. Good thing, because...
