    don't touch that throttle body

I'm not an expert on this but the engines seem to run pretty good when brand new (at least mine did). I doubt they came with a layer of deposits from the factory. Also, relying on deposits/crap lining the throttle body bore doesn't strike me as the best way to seal up air leaks!

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

Nice rig! I also went through the same situation as you a short time ago but I'm happy to say that I have found a great solution that works for my needs. It may/may not work for you depending on how frequently you want to be able to mount/dismount and if you need to. If you are not willing to...

    OCD GLOVE BOX ORGANIZATION

Thanks; I will definitely order these! BTW, here is what I use in my side door pocket. Can be bought on Amazon (search Grid-It) in a variety of sizes. It's great at holding just about anything small and has a zippered compartment on the back side. I use another one for my XP-10 micro-start...

    Hydraulic Jack Suggestions

Manoftaste, full disclosure, we have a calibration department at my work and they can calibrate just about anything, lol. Not having that option I probably would never have calibrated it. We have a ton of Snap On digital torque wrenches but that's really not needed to tighten lug nuts...

How to fix your Headlight washers nozzle

I'm not sure when they changed them but my '15 has small flush-mounted black plastic nozzles and they can only be installed from inside the bumper cover. I believe the earlier versions (like your 2010) sit on top of the bumper and are mounted from the outside so maybe the clip is inside the bumper?

How to fix your Headlight washers nozzle

I identified this as a problem before my dealer was aware of it. I have had my left side “fixed” once and the passenger side done twice. If you are semi-handy I recommend doing it yourself to avoid collateral damage...the dealer scratched up the bumper near the openings. It’s unbelievable they...

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

Thanks for the images, iSurfsilvano, now the ProSpeed "system" makes sense. I am definitely not looking to invest that much. Of course this may all be moot as my wife's QX60 lease is coming up and she really wants my LR4. That will mean I have to move into a D5...not sure I'm ready for that.

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

iSurfsilvano, speaking of the stock setup...I went to a Land Rover owner's day in November and when I was descending a mountain trail the front left tire flipped up a small tombstone-shaped rock so that it basically turned into a jack stand under the front part of the left running board. Just...

    Hydraulic Jack Suggestions

iSurfsilvano, you can pick up these little gems and still save some time with your existing cordless drill/driver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCOIF4G?aaxitk=JtxSK7z1jTMEobOwuYcapQ

    Hydraulic Jack Suggestions

It's never a good idea to torque down lug nuts with an impact driver. Impact wrench for off and torque wrench for on. The main reason is that you will want to distribute the forces as you install across all fasteners as evenly as possible rather than just clamp down to the intended torque...

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

Thanks, Ryanjl. Do you have the Tactical sliders? Wondering how they function from a kid/step perspective.

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

I'm looking at adding sliders and have narrowed it down to two options. Besides the obvious reason for protection, the secondary criteria is that it should still function pretty good as a step (kids are still small). It's between Tactical 4x4 and ProSpeed and, oddly enough, the ProSpeed may be...

    Tire Pressure?

When I bought my '15 LR4 I didn't check the pressures until driving around for about a month. Was astounded to find out the dealer set the pressures to about 50 front and rear. Drove well enough (stock Continentals) but I lowered them for better compliance over the bumps. 42 and 42 seemed to...

Making a case for the D5

Hey, so I have another fresh opinion on the matter having had a D5 loaner on Monday and Tuesday (leaking diff seal - replaced under warranty, FYI). I posted my original feedback on the "Discovery 5 hit with the ugly stick" thread back in December and it still holds true. If anything I am...

    Cargo attic DIY

Great idea! Even if only for the kids to stash their jackets (so they don't keep ending up on the floor) trip it's a great use of space. Love these boxy trucks.

    Rear differential leak?

I found a couple drops on the garage floor right under where the rear differential would be. 2015 with 32k miles, but I haven't read of any real issue others have had on this forum. Could it be anything else?

    My rover won’t start...

Reminds me of my bonehead move turning the "radio" off on the highway at around 60mph. For those curious with the SCV6, shutting the engine off at speed results in the transmission shifting itself into N as the selector retracts. I started back up and put it back into D with no issue other...

Ah, I just assumed they would be the same...a spare bag sounds like a great idea Cperez.

Front tow hook. Removing plastic cover?

Speaking of the 1/4 turn fasteners, I went to the parts counter at the dealer because one of mine snapped off when I was trying to remove the hitch cover (I assume they are the same as on the front tow hook cover). Now, I never expect anything for free, but given the cheapness of the part and...

    Ignition Connection Point in Dash

Oh, in that case the information I gave you may not be helpful. You may want to go over to the D5 forum and see if anybody can help there.

    Ignition Connection Point in Dash

I don't know about behind the dash, but I recently did some work to replace one of my 12V sockets. See this post for directions on how to gain access if you have a 2014 and later LR4: http://www.landroverworld.org/threads/voltmeter-usb-charge-port-install.29746/. Pfunk951 further added photos...

Does the LR4 Require 2 Keys???

Interesting...my time and date change format as well. I've gotten accustomed to the 24 hour format so it hasn't bothered me in a while. Do you know if it was throwing any codes?

    8 Cylinder vs 6 Cylinder

+1 on the HD package - should be mandatory. Also gives you full-size spare tire which is rare these days; good to have for mitigating travel/vacation interruptions and lets you spread the wear over 5 tires to effectively extend your purchasing interval. As for tires, I have the Goodyear...

Voltmeter / USB charge port install

Manoftaste, the short answer is "yes"; I wanted a clean and flush install. Protrusions, wires, and add-ons really irk me for some reason. I'm with you on the temperature display. When I finished the install, I was thinking it would be perfect if I could find the same form-factor product as...
