    Roof Box Question - LR4

I had the Thule aero bars from my previous Suburban and I bought the Tracker foot pack (something like that) as well as the tracker bases. I did have to fabricate wider mounting tabs but I’m happy with the setup and I can remove the bars in less than a minute. I usually leave them off unless...

Looking to Buy 2016 LR4 Needed some help

Here you go....I really liked the overall look with the Duratracs but I recently swapped them (they were worn and loud) for Nokian WRG3 which is better for my mostly-on-road and snow use. They just don't look as good. These pics don't show the non-skid tape I applied to a few strategic areas...

Sure...this is in my wife's Cayenne, but looks the same in the LR.

Big fan of these...I have one mounted on each visor: https://www.amazon.com/Croakies-Sunglass-Eyeglass-Glasses-Holder/dp/B01N7WFOGH/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1543592653&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=croakies+visor+clip&psc=1

Looking to Buy 2016 LR4 Needed some help

Keep in mind there were no structural changes after '15, when the running boards became standard. The doors have to meet federal side impact standards, which they do, and the integrated-body-frame is arguably stronger than most passenger vehicles on the road today. I recently had my...

For those of you thinking about the upcoming winter...

In northern NJ and just had my first snow test with the WRG3s...so much better in the snow than my old Duratracs. It wasn't really deep but it was a sticky, slippery mess and directional control, accelerating and braking hardly seemed affected.

New owner First Service Wrong oil????

That's a shame, but I can relate. When my LR4 is over I probably won't be getting another JLR product just because of my dealership experiences.

Is the LR4 good for daily highway travel?

Agree with most comments here...the size, heft, and construction contribute to an extremely stable and safe highway vehicle. I enjoy cruising along, nice and steady, at highway speeds. If you keep to around ~65mph or below the fuel burn is not bad at all. I'm sure if you cruise around 75-80...

    Factory Driving Lights Lens Size

I would think contacting PIAA would be your best bet. I installed PIAA LED fog lights...they are marginally better than the factory units, but any light that is inset that far into the bumper is not going to be as effective as something sitting on top or out proud of the bumper.

    L319 vs. L462...

I’m pretty sure that platform is really old...and the recent “facelift” is horrible.

Why do american trucks get much better mpg that the lr4?

And to answer your question about side-impact protection, I am certain they are a superior in protection to the factory steps. Welded tubular and plate steel versus stamped steel and aluminum perimeter for the factory steps.

Why do american trucks get much better mpg that the lr4?

Yes; I'll start a new thread when I get more info...got the Nokians on last week and still early into my first tank.

    L319 vs. L462...

I'm kind of moving in that direction, too. I think a welded rear bumper (with step) would go a long way to fix the bulbous rear look...but it would extend the rear overhang by a few inches. As long as that's happening a new tailgate with integrated steps to the roof would solve the...

2011, 66k miles, flat battery issues

Do you know if a load test was performed on the battery? That will tell you the battery's effectiveness at handling a load (such as starting an engine). Some people just put a voltmeter on it and call it a day.

Receiver Hitch - Is this normal?

Yup, mine does the same thing. I would say it’s normal.

    Disabling 2014 ECO Switch

Yeah, it's terrible and IMO, that .5 second delay is a huge safety issue. Obviously the JLR attorneys never have been in stop-and-go traffic or have had to make a left turn across oncoming traffic... In any case, my 2015 LR4 was doing almost exactly what you describe. It had been a long time...

Why do american trucks get much better mpg that the lr4?

I am still waiting for more data to "publish" my results but I noticed an improvement in mileage recently when I removed my factory side steps and replaced them with Proud Rhino sliders. They really reach under the vehicle, I would say almost one foot on each side, and seem to create at least a...

Not really; it’s a matrix display and the “eco off” is only one of the symbols that could display in that location.

Dash Cam Recommendations for the LR4?

You should really look into umbertob's install instructions; should answer all of your questions. You can pull down the entire overhead lighting assembly to give you access to the wiring...it's more than the rain sensor (lighting, switches for sunroof, etc). You can just run wire(s) toward the...

    Disabling 2014 ECO Switch

On second thought, I'm not sure...my eco mode "broke" a while ago. The system never engaged and the light was always off (it was nice). Only recently the amber light was going on/off intermittently. The dealer "fixed" it by replacing the small auxiliary battery and now it works as it should...
