    Bleeding coolant woes...... help needed!

There’s not one on the V8s. Only the three you mentioned. Do you have a radiator pressure tester? https://www.harborfreight.com/radiator-pressure-tester-kit-63862.html

    Weird battery behavior

Thanks guys. I know the charger works because most of the time it’s on my other car and that battery stays full. I guess this is all the more reason to go ahead and upgrade to an H8 AGM.

    Weird battery behavior

I haven’t put one in it. It’s got the OEM battery in it the previous owner had put in in 2019.

    Weird battery behavior

So back in the winter, my 2013 LR4's battery died sitting for a period of time with me going in and out of it on a regular basis. Battery is the standard LR4 battery put in in 2019. So I reconditioned/recharged it to full and it was fine after that. Well, truck has been in the garage for 4...

    fold outside mirrors when locked

Funny you ask that. What’s the difference? I did notice the very first time after I changed the setting, and pressed lock once I don’t think the folded? But they did with a double press. I’ve always double pressed.

    fold outside mirrors when locked

There is. But I assumed that would disable them even when manually pressing the buttons, which I wasn’t sure I really wanted to do. If they still fold on “fitted” when default is “fitted with logic” I’m not sure what the difference even is then.

    fold outside mirrors when locked

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I recently installed wind deflectors and wanted to disable the auto fold mirror on locking so it wouldn’t hit the guards. I changed them to “fitted” from fitted w/logic with the Gap tool but they still fold when locking. Any ideas?

Need a few pieces for the factory roof rails.

Already ahead of you on that one lol. Got burned with replacing a windshield on one of my other vehicles so had them quote me for a $0 deductible and it was so negligible I wondered why I hadn’t had it all along.

Need a few pieces for the factory roof rails.

Geez. Mine are OEM but I’m OCD and it’s going to drive me crazy not having the hole covers I know.

Need a few pieces for the factory roof rails.

So I bought a set of OEM roof rails off eBay. They were pulled off another LR so naturally I assumed all the bolts and pieces would be there. Well, they’re not. I know Atlantic british sells that bolt hardware kit but what I’m missing are the little plastic bolt covers that pop into the holes...

Trailer programming with GAP IID tool

Sorry to revive an old thread but I just got my wiring harness installed this past weekend and will need to activate tow assist with the GAP tool as well. So I see four "tow/trailer" related settings up in the screenshot above. I presume all 4 need to be activated including the "trailer module"?

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

So I’ve basically read through this entire thread but remain a little confused. A few folks have mentioned they just did a simple drain refill, while others did the whole conversion. I didn’t think a simple drain refill was possible hence why you had to convert. So what am I missing? If you can...

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Yessir that hose. So everyone else has it resting on the block? I thought the clips were there to keep it off the block? I even put a zip tie on it through the eyelet used to hold the plug wire at the back as well just to keep it tucked tighter up to the manifold and not the block.

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Can a anyone show/explain how this dang hose is supposed to route at the back? I keep fighting with it and am never sure if it’s right once I seat the intake because I can’t see back there. I presume the retaining clips are to keep the hose lifted away from the block itself? Since I can’t see...

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Errrr. I went ahead and put coolant back in mine so I could pressure test without having to take everything back apart again if there was a leak. The hose seems very neatly ran through that area so I'm not sure it's even necessary.

This photo shows where the clip is, although this particular one is missing it.

V8 Coolant Manifold / Crossover & Maintenance Parts List

Question for those of you who've had the manifold completely out. There is a hose retaining clip at the back of the manifold on the drivers side. I believe it is intended to hold the coolant hose that routes along the top of the coolant manifold pipe and runs back under the intake up to the...

    Oil in intake manifold

To be honest, I looked for catch cans and there is little to no info on the what and how front so I think I'm just resigning myself to the fact that it's going to happen and perhaps periodically clean it out. Heck, plenty of guys on this forum are over 150k on their vehicles and probably didn't...

    Oil in intake manifold

Well, just pulled both diaphragms and they’re in fine condition. No tears holes etc. So that can’t be the cause of the oil.

    Oil in intake manifold

So there’s no point in replacing PCV valves?

    Oil in intake manifold

Hey guys. 2013 LR4 with 82k miles. Well maintained. Finishing up the front and rear coolant pipe replacement and as I went to put the intake back on, I noticed a few ounces of oil in it. Turned it up and let it drain. It appears to be coming from the hose connecting into the valve cover on...

Is this leak coolant or transmission fluid?

Genius. Why on earth didn’t I think of the dye.

Rear Crossover (Heater Manifold) failure mode?

Ahh. You might be right. Mines a 2013.

Rear Crossover (Heater Manifold) failure mode?

Tbh, I don't even remember my source saying you needed to lift the reservoir. I thought it was already elevated above the rest of the system.

Rear Crossover (Heater Manifold) failure mode?

Being in the middle of a front/rear pipe replacement myself, I've seen people reference this a lot and I don't get it. Most folks who have completed the job successfully seem to have had zero trouble manually bleeding the system, but then others make it sound as if its a bear and takes hours...
