    My rover won’t start...

Takes a whole 30 seconds to swap it. Use a skinny tool of some sort - a small plastic scraper would be ideal, although I used the corner of a metal one and it was just as easy, you just need to be a bit more careful not to damage the vinyl material around the bezel with a metal tool - as a lever...

    My rover won’t start...

Dude, you have a worn Engine Start Stop button. Look, you can't even read it anymore "ST...E...OP". Get a new button for Chrissake, do I have to think of everything around here? ;)

    Help with Rear Seat DVD

I believe 2012 and up (MOST Gen 2.1) switched to the "new" rear seat entertainment system with larger headrest monitors and WhiteFire headphones.

    Help with Rear Seat DVD

The LR4 factory rear seat entertainment system's headphones use an obscure, expensive and little supported wireless technology, called WhiteFire. The overhead transmitter (hidden behind that shiny black plate located more or less above the head of rear passengers) communicates with compatible...

Loud Tone from Sound System at startup

How did you disable PDC in IIDTool? Changed it to "Not Fitted"? Is there a blinking light on the PDC button when the tone is playing at startup? I guess I could try disabling mine and see if I get the same results.

What psi are you running your 285/50r20's. Ride Stiffness?

Generally you always stick to the recommended factory pressure shown on the driver's door tag, as long as your P tires are XL (Extra Load) range, which is what Land Rover recommends for the LR4, regardless of rim or tire size. If you switch to LT (Light Truck) tires with an "E" Load Range - such...

Does the LR4 Require 2 Keys???

Any original, used fob from another LR4 (or 2010+ RRS / Evoque) will work and can be reprogrammed for your vehicle in about 20 seconds (obviously, the emergency key blade inside the fob won't work - but you wouldn't care about that), but I wonder if the dealer would accept that as a second key...

Does the LR4 Require 2 Keys???

That's news to me as well, I think they just want to charge you for a second key. As far as I know, the second key (should you ever find it, new cars do indeed come with two fobs) will not work if it's not programmed into the new BCM with the other fob - but it's very easy to reprogram a used...

    Tire fitment - 255/60R19 ok?

No problem fitting them, anything 31" or smaller will clear with no issues and no rubbing under all conditions. Speedo will be off a bit, but so marginally that you and the cops probably won't even notice it. ;) Only possible issue: you may have trouble running the smaller spare tire - should...

    Pump Sound

Most likely it is the air pump (compressor) for your EAS. It is quite normal for it to run for a minute or two in the morning when you first start the car. It will occasionally run while you are driving as well for a few seconds, but once you are on the road you generally don't hear it much. I...

    Gear Shift Selector

I sure did, must have been 5+ years ago at least, when I owned the white RRS. I still have the Llams height controller dial, I moved it onto the LR4 when I sold the Sport. :)

    Gear Shift Selector

MY2014 was the first year of the rotary knob and shift paddles here in North America, along with the introduction of the SCV6 and 8-speed tranny (I believe they had the rotary knob in Europe at least a year or two earlier than MY14s on diesel models.) Little experience with the rotary thingie +...

    Sell a 2010 and buy a 2013?

Well, Ford sold JLR to Tata almost 10 years ago. Although I am sure Ford still supplies plenty of parts to both Jaguar and Land Rover, I don't know about them "using" brands they no longer own to test their new engines and in-cabin technology.

    My Big Fat Costco fail

The access height "lock" mode only prevents the car from automatically rising from access back to normal height until you reach speeds up to about 20 mph. It is designed so you can drive at a decent clip inside low overhead clearance parking structures and garages that you could not otherwise...

2015 LR4 Brake pad replacement video? Anyone

Search if there are brake job videos for 2010-2013 Range Rover Sport HSE - same exact brakes as the LR4, front and rear. If you are tackling the front, here is one:

    My Big Fat Costco fail

I have no good answer... :) The car often self levels a few seconds after you park it and every few hours, and by raising it to off-road height my guess is that you have done the bulk of "leveling" yourself (next time, try lowering the car to access and then raising it back up to normal height...

    My Big Fat Costco fail

You can't really "lock" the suspensions by setting them to high / off-road position. You just give yourself or your mechanic more clearance to preciely position a jack (or lift) at the jacking point(s), and let the car do some of the heavy lifting before you start, that's all. The affected...

    2012 LR4 Bluetooth Audio skipping

I experience it (rarely, but it happens maybe 5% of the times I connect) with my Android phone as well - no matter where I place it in the car. When it happens, I usually turn Bluetooth off and back on on my phone, the handset re-pairs automatically with Land Rover and the issue goes away. It is...

Disco 5 hit with the ugly stick

Unless you use the fob remote to adjust height (with doors shut and hazards on, as explained in the manual), the suspensions should only lower - not rise - when the engine is not running.

    KEY FOB COVER(s)

I used to have those Neoprene covers on my later design (2013) fobs, but I got rid of them eventually. No question they protect the fob from scratches and drops - even from a quick dunk in water, probably. However, although fitting like a glove, they still managed to add a bit too much bulk for...

Disco 5 hit with the ugly stick

If you read between the lines and the sugarcoating of today's press release, 2017 wasn't that good of a year for JLR in North America. If it weren't for the new Velar (which surely cannibalized sales of the Sport somewhat, though) and the surprising double digit increase of the big Range Rover...

LR4 Glove box Door Hinge Pins Removal w/out special tool

Hey Andy, I was lucky as the squeal disappeared on its own a few weeks after I wrote that, so I didn't have to remove the fan to clean it after all. Still, it looks like an easy enough procedure to drop it and clear any debris that may be jammed in there causing the intermittent noise...

    Factory required annual service?

That's pretty much all the first service entails, an oil change and various checks / fluid top-ups... The only benefit (unless they forget, and they often do...) is that they reset the service interval indicator, free of charge, when they change oil. :)
