    DIY Oil Change for LR4

My understanding is that the SCV6 is exactly the same engine as the NAV8, save for 2 missing cylinders and a supercharger bolted on top. Same filter, same fill procedures, same everything. Only the oil specs were changed slightly, I believe (see your manual.)

Rear Brake Pads from Atlantic British

Yup, mine are actually aluminum, too. So I guess the cast iron are the odd ones found on early 2010s, and the majority of us have aluminum calipers

Rear Brake Pads from Atlantic British

I very much doubt there will be any safety issues, but if your rear brakes start squeaking, that may be due to those pads applied in the wrong calipers.

Rear Brake Pads from Atlantic British

https://app.box.com/s/8wh5v645yl5ygajgc7ztg24xwtgeffr3 - this applies only to MY2010s, so you should most definitely need LR055455 for your MY2012 (for the cast iron calipers mounted on MY2011s and newer.)

Rear Brake Pads from Atlantic British

I believe there were two types of rear calipers used for earlier build LR4s, cast iron and aluminum. Each caliper required its own pad IIRC. I have a TSB about that somewhere, I'll see if I can locate it.

My 2016 LR4 has a factory installed second battery

I think I remember owners on a different forum found enough space in the trunk / boot area, on the side behind the LH trim panel. Not sure if the panel itself required modification or not, I'll see if I can find the thread. The engine bay is pretty much sold out with that auxiliary battery...

My 2016 LR4 has a factory installed second battery

I doubt it's anything usable, just judging by its dimensions my little daughters' pink Barbie Jeep appears to have a more capable battery that that. Seriously, that auxiliary battery is solely used for keeping things running for short intervals when Stop / Start is active, so the main battery...

    20 x 8.5" vs 19 x 8" Wheels and wheel track width.

There are no spacers. You worry too much. :) As long as the wheel offset is the same, front and rear tracks don't change, regardless of how wide the rim itself is.

    IID Tool updated current sites?

Shoot, it's cheaper to buy from GAP themselves: http://www.gap-diagnostic.com/ The UK route may be cheaper still, thanks once again to the current foreign exchange rate. Shipping should be a non-issue on such a tiny device.

    IID Tool updated current sites?

Good idea. You'll still need the blade insert cut by a locksmith, IIDTool won't do that for you. ;) Otherwise, reprogramming a used, compatible remote to work on the LR4 is scary easy with the IIDTool - literally. I wonder how easy it would be for an electronically proficient thief to clone one...

Engine Oil Level: "Overfilled" message with a burning smell (right after delivery)

The sensors have enough tolerance that a slight incline shouldn't trigger that message, but if the oil sump was filled to max capacity and the oil was warm and the car was on an incline, I guess it may be possible. Better to let them check it out asap, just in case.

Engine Oil Level: "Overfilled" message with a burning smell (right after delivery)

Do what your manual says, stop driving and call the dealer asap. They may send a flat bed truck to your place for something like this, with a loaner on top. Overfilling an engine with oil is no joke.

Extended Warranty - purchase at signing or wait?

First of all, you are asking on the wrong forum if you have a Range Rover. This is the LR4 forum, a car with a very different sticker price. Secondly, these extended warranties are offered by many different underwriters, and are very much negotiable, as long as you are still under factory...

    Engine cover

Yeah, it's just there to hide the "ugly" guts of the engine, it serves no purpose otherwise. I have been scratching my head at those vanity engine covers for a few years now, everyone seems to be doing it, even manufacturers that one assumes would be proud to show off their "naked" engine. Even...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I was checking out recent prices of the Compos PD1881 from online suppliers. The current Pound / Dollar exchange rate works in US customers' favor, big time. Performance Alloys is advertising these wheels for just over $300 after £/$ conversion, plus shipping from the UK, which adds another 65...

HD Pack - after sale installation?

Well, it would be "useless" if it had... 2WD , but with full time 4WD, EAS, a locking center diff and terrific traction control subsystems, it is still way better than a lot of poser utes on dirt roads and in winter conditions - with proper tires, of course. I have run plenty of local...

    Second Row Sun-shade.

Same here (2013.) No issues with either front or 2nd row sunshades, and my daughters must have slammed them open and close a thousand times over 3+ years.

HD Pack - after sale installation?

It's actually 2014s and later, but yeah... That's when LR started making the 2-speed xfer case part of the optional HD package (which also includes electronic rear lockers and a full size spare tire) on the LR4.

HD Pack - after sale installation?

Air lockers won't do much good without a low range... If he had a 2013 or earlier it wouldn't be as complicated, that's for sure.

HD Pack - after sale installation?

Forget about it. Authorized LR dealers won't do it, no matter how much money you throw at them, as the HD Pack is a factory option and not a dealer installed accessory. You could have a reputable LR independent shop order the parts - lots and lots of them - and do the work, but besides the...

    Bad vibration

Wheel bearings? Usually bad bearings / wheel hubs are accompanied by noises, though (screeching or grinding sounds.) Jack up the front end and see if there is any up/down/ side-to-side play in either front wheels.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I have never used any BFG tires, so I can't compare I'm afraid. I hear great things about them from fellow LR club members, and they do look great (both the original KO and the new ones.) I think the LT285/60R18 Nitto Terra G2s (E-load) I have are excellent all-around A/T tires if you want...

    Backup Camera

The standard, single backup camera is analog, and I suspect the image quality may be better than on LR4s fitted with the optional 5-camera video system (which is digital.)

    Wheel offset question

I'd test fit those. The offset difference is indeed negligible, but will the spokes clear the calipers of the LR4? What year Range Rover are those wheels from?

    Newbie Question #1 - Rear 12v outlet

You can remove a relay on the passenger compartment's fuse box and jump it. This will ensure that cargo area, front passenger and rear passengers 12V outlets (not the "cigarette lighter" outlet on the front driver's side - that's got its own relay) stay hot at all times. Go to the following...
