    LR5 Release Updates?

Who knows... Nobody's seen it in the flesh, although I would expect it to be little more than a Jaguar F-Pace clone (it's apparently built on the same platform as the F-Pace), so plenty quick on the road and little or no "real" off-road capabilities aside from being all-wheel drive. We will all...

    LR5 Release Updates?

That looks like the switch for ANITAS, an aftermarket height controller for LR3/LR4/RRS made by Mudtech 4x4, a European (either Italian or German, could never figure it out) company. Their web site is currently down - not sure if temporarily or forever... I have the LLAMS height controller...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Here you can kinda see one fitted with a winch:

    Intelligent Start/Stop MIA

Too cold outside, perhaps? There are specific instances (low ambient temperature being one of them) where the stop/start system will not operate - by design. They are listed in the manual.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

I inflate my Nitto Terra G2 LT285/60R18 (also E range) about 52R, 48F. No complaints and they do seem to wear evenly.

    Velar?

Press release, with usual bombastic "The Velar Changes Everything" statement by Gerry McGovern: http://media.landrover.com/en-us/news/2017/02/introducing-range-rover-velar I imagine it will be little more than a rebadged F-Pace.

    Velar?

The L494 Sport, introduced in 2014 to replace the L320 Sport (2006-2013), is built on the same aluminum platform as the current L405 Range Rover and upcoming new Discovery. The only dinosaur left in Land Rover's lineup was the LR4. Range Rover Velar rumors...

    New dash cam

iSurfvilano, yes that's the correct hookup for the 12V socket over the front console, red / positive to the green/white wire and black / negative to a grounding point (the bolt.) I hardwired the rear cam to a splice on the back of the 12V socket in the trunk, since the rear cam doesn't need any...

2016 - free first scheduled maintenance

Jaguar badly needs to sell a lot more cars than they do currently, Land Rover doesn't. I remember when I purchased my RRS in late 2005, US Land Rover owners used to get all scheduled maintenance free for 3 years or 45K miles, and that was back when Land Rovers needed a service every 6 months or...

2016 - free first scheduled maintenance

As a reminder, the first "Scheduled Maintenance" is just a glorified oil/filter change (they'll also reset your Service Reminder light - unless they forget, which they often do. :)) Probably takes a dealer all of 10 minutes to do it, plus 8 quarts of Castrol oil and a filter. It's also a chance...

Auto high beam seems to have quit

The low resolution camera for the high beams assist feature is actually an inch or so away from the windshield, just below the square sensor sandwiched between rear view mirror and windshield (that one is the rain / light sensor for auto headlamps and windshield wipers.) Are you sure you don't...

    LR5 Release Updates?

The gills are not functional. The air intakes have been moved further up the fender (under left and right edges of the hood), which is why the wading depth of the new Discovery will actually be much improved over the LR4's. Rear visibility on the LR4 would be great, were it not for those...

    LR5 Release Updates?

We are getting close, but I believe those are all still test mules. Don't think first actual delivery to a customer will happen until April, even in the UK. 20K units have reportedly been pre-ordered worldwide, so they'll be busy for a while.

    ABS Sensor

It couldn't be a faulty brake light switch, could it? The symptoms were pretty much those you described in the LR3 when that switch would fail (or an incorrect type of brake lamp was used to replace the original one...) Anyway, that would be another inexpensive part to try and replace, if your...

Will the new 2014-2016 Headlights work on a 2010-2013?

AFAIK, no. Different dimensions and connections / features.

High Range to Low Range Scarry Feeling

2-3 mph is too slow, either stop completely and do it at a standstill, or bring the speed up to around 10-20 mph, then switch to Low. Flip to Neutral, foot off the gas, hit Lo switch, keep holding it for a second or two as the Lo indicator flashes and then stays on steady, engage Drive, foot...

High Range to Low Range Scarry Feeling

You can change from Hi to Lo when slowing down to speeds below 25 mph, IIRC. However, you do need to wait several seconds - foot off the gas and coasting in Neutral - before the gearbox completes the switch and the Lo light stops flashing and stays on steady. Only then you should put it in Drive...

HD Pack - after sale installation?

Off topic, but I still wonder if the manufacturing agreement that Land Rover signed with Magna Steyr a couple of years ago will come to full fruition when the new Defender is introdced. That would be cool, as Magna Steyr has built some solid vehicles in the past, and I can't think of a better...

2016 Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) Project Build

Very nice. Don't worry about the compressor being exposed to water as a result of installing the Tactical sliders, it was designed to take that type of abuse. The cover you removed is strictly for muffling noise anyway, it's not waterproof or anything like that. I like that they enlarged that...

NAS Recall P39 - 2010-2013 Emissions / Engine Malfunction Lamp illuminated

Your dealer - or any dealer - will supply you with the certificate (mine forgot to issue one when they did the corrective work, so they mailed it to me when the DMV registration renewal was due and I called them to request it.) Just send that certificate in with your DMV payment. If the work was...

    Wheel Articulation - TRS Interaction

I posted the link in the past, but here is an interesting presentation paper that introduced the then-revolutionary LR's Terrain Response at an All-Wheel Drive Congress (yes, they actually have those!) organized by Magna Steyr in Graz back in 2005. It is pretty thorough in explaining which...

    Wheel Articulation - TRS Interaction

AFAIK, Terrain Response controls a variety of systems and sub-systems, but not the air suspensions (besides automatically engaging Off-Road height in certain programs.) Articulation should be the same, regardless of which program you are in.

    fuel tank skid plate/mount

Perhaps he was referring to fuel tank mount brackets... Ryan is right, unless the previous owner installed an aftermarket skid plate, there isn't a factory one protecting the fuel tank on the LR4. It is quite vulnerable down there. The corrosion warranty on the LR4 is 6 years / unlimited...
