Long term plan for the LR4

You brake the LR4 once, they are bedded in. :)

Is this possible to remove '16 LR4 running boards?

The "vanity" accessory running boards available on 2014s and earlier are a whole different animal, and only look like the mandatory ones that were factory installed on 2015s and 16s. The comparatively tiny brackets only serve to support the weight of those stepping on the lightweight aluminum...

Johnson Rods problem - Red Suspension Fault

Try installing them again, but this time do not turn your engine back on until all 4 rods are hooked up. My guess is that you really confused the EAS module by replacing just one and then switching to off-road height with the other 3 standard length rods still in place, then replacing the rest...

    LR5 Release Updates?

Yup, you can disable it. Even if you don't, it won't work in low range, most off-road modes or off-road height. http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/document/3D/2017/T23339/22489_en_GBR/proc/G1951864

    LR4 Black Front Grille

I installed their LEDs kit on both my front doors last week, they worked as advertised. It took about 2 weeks for the shipment to reach me in Los Angeles via International Mail - not bad, and everything was carefully packed and felt high quality. I would recommend them as well.

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

Rock Crawl mode is there on pre-2014s, with or without rear lockers / HD pack. It is missing from 2014s+ without HD because those models also lack the 2-speed transfer case, which would make rock crawling an iffy proposition at best. :)

    75,000 service interval

Get the service done at a Land Rover indy shop if possible, dealer labor rates and parts are notoriously overpriced. The 75K service differs from the usual "glorified oil change" routine tune-up only because they will also replace your air filters, transfer case fluid and (if you have it) the...

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

Pre-2014s with HD packs don't have any "extra" buttons or dials on the console (compared to a similarly equipped LR4 without HD.)

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Yes, that's the clearance - just enough. Tight squeeze for wheel weights if they glue them right there. Something similar happened to me the very first time ever I had these balanced, even though my tire shop double stacked some weights. Now they know better.

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

Sand mode is a hoot to use at stoplights as well...

What do you think, new bushings needed?

No, my indy shop did it while he was down there replacing front brakes, all fluids, spark plugs, etc. He used the factory rubber bushings, as pictured.

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

Not to my knowledge, Sand mode is the same as it's always been since the LR3, AFAIK. The additional wheel spin may be due to 25% more ponies in the 5-liter engine... :)

    Battery Warranty

The battery is covered by the same manufacturer's warranty as the rest of the car, 4 years or 50K miles whichever occurs first. It doesn't matter how many times it was replaced under warranty, once the factory coverage is up you are on your own.

    Triton Cooler?

Never heard of them, where are they from? I have an ARB now, but the 43qt Edgestar I owned prior was a very good fridge for less than 400 bicks.

    Neutral Manually

Good question. On models with the traditional shifter there is a red release handle under the cupholder on the center console (remove the cupholder inserts and then grab the cupholder and pull up firmly, it will disengage from its clips and pop off), I have seen where it is on my 2013 but I have...

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

That's not true. If one goes "Blue Screen Of Death", the others will continue working (unless the camera module itself goes bad - but that's not common.) The surround cameras used to be trouble on the first couple of years of production, but the ones on my 2013 at least have been flawless...

    Cooler Box removal?

We're not animals! Throw it all on the front passenger seat. The wife can sit in the back between the kids.

    Cooler Box removal?

Sure, there is a non-cool box insert, but I don't think you gain much storage space in there by swapping one for the other. Nothing prevents you from using the cool box for storage (that's how I use it. Sunglasses cases, phone chargers, wallets, loose change, etc. fit in the cool box just fine.)...

    Open Sunroof

It's in the manual somewhere... Can't get to the manual now (car is at the mechanic for some new bushings, brakes and fluids. 3-day Mojave Road trip coming up!) From recollection, with the sunroof closed and the ignition turned on, press and hold the sunroof's front/close button for about 20...

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

Don't know what model year you have, but I believe that on 2010 and 11s the 4x4 screen did show padlock icons on both center and rear differentials, even on models that had an open rear diff... So, the graphic representation of a "lock" doesn't necessarily mean your car is fitted with rear...

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

OK, that should work also (it does on my end), but try this instead: https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm To inquire about a specific VIN, you need to register first (it's free), then log in with your user name and password. You should then be presented with a VIN...

    Oil level not showing

Wait 15 minutes after turning off the engine, then try reading the level again. Don't crank the engine, just hit the engine start button with your foot off the brake pedal and access the Service Menu again. The oil level will only display when the engine is not running, and after the oil has...

    Found an LR4, a couple pre-purchase questions...

The factory "dust plates" that come with the car should be the same. There are two styles of dealer installed accessory front skid plates available, one for the LR3 and one for the LR4 (both made by Mantec for Land Rover, IIRC.) The design is different - the LR4's flares wider on the front end...
