I'm curious how folks with a Kaymar right handed spare tire swing away are dealing with a bike rack... ;-) -

Behind that thin plastic skin of a bumper is a full size steel bumper. Even if you buy a Kaymar, which just sleeves that steel, it is solid. -

Install was pretty easy but I had a considerable amount of leftover hardware. Not sure why they include so much. I'd suggest using some blue painters tape along the roof edges on the drip channel when putting the rails onto the roof mounts to prevent a slip and scrape of paint. -

Thanks again, I routed them up the pillar, under the last and then under the trim piece on the roof. For me it is removable. -

Excellent now that I did away with the gap between the light and rack. When I first installed the light, it left a 3/4" gap that caused the most ungodly whistling that was deafening. I cut down a piece of L aluminum stock to mount in between and that has made it extremely quiet. -

I'm using a Baja Designs set of lights (Driving) on the front grille and superbrightleds.com light bar under the rack. I think there is an older writeup on the mounts I made and incorporated. I'm actually unhappy with the baja lights. They throw an okay amount of light but not what I expected... -

Have been doing quite a bit of wheeling lately in VT pre-running trails for Vermont Overland for the upcoming VO Trophy as well as day trips. Will be posting up pics. But pleasantly surprised and happy with how well the LR4 runs offroad. -

That set doesn't come with a switch or wiring harness. They intend for it to be an H4 light replacement on trucks like jeeps and defenders (notice the blade style connector in the diagram). You would need to do something custom but it would be pretty easy. I would just tie the position light... -

I agree, get 4. Seems pricey, but they are worth more than a winch in a number of recovery situations. And you want one for each wheel. -

Can't someone just hack the macbook to do this? Sounds flip, but I carry the cobra jump pack in the winter, it gets a little tiresome having a bunch of devices I need to bring inside every night in my laptop bag. Rant over. -

You pretty much nailed it. Both are decent products. I have the full front runner rack now, former urban rack as well. The Urban is truly low profile so if you are really constrained for instance for garage parking, that is where you need to go. -
