T44 rock sliders - Test fitting (long post)
Umbertob, does your compressor mount have a hole in the base of the lowered section (where the dirt is caked)? Mine did, maybe based on your input for drainage. Curious if others refit the sound deadening material from LR (foam)? I did, hoping it is not an issue of any kind I've introduced. -

Suggestions for Tires 20" Wheels
Anything with a larger diameter from stock will affect the speedo. It isn't very much below a 33" tire, but it will. This will help: http://www.onlineconversion.com/bigger_tires.htm Get the IID tool or have your dealer turn on the digital speedo readout, that helps immensely. -

What's the mileage on the Hancooks? Depending on mileage (assuming they aren't new), I'd just drive them and sell the conti's. While you will get much more wear and reduce the life on your trip, the stickier rubber will be of great benefit. And the market for the Conti's in stock or on rims... -
Bridgeston Blizzak DM-V1
I use them, just swapped them on and took my mud terrains off for the winter. They are a good tire. I don't find them any worse for handling than the conti's on dry pavement. Handle great in ice/snow as you would expect. -

I have though I used FFRR 20" rims. It has been a year or so but if I recall correctly the RR rims have increased backspacing which enabled less spacer (only 3/4"). I run a 275/55 R20 Open country Toyo mud terrain. You may find that (or at least a year ago when I did this) there aren't many... -

Has anyone considered or fit a mud flap to the front wheels with the Tactical 4x4 sliders? Was mounting mine last night, previously I had the Terrfirma slider which accommodates the rover factory mud flap. Looks like that's not an option without getting crafty with a hot knife and plastic...
