2016 LR4 and Liftmaster garage + slide gate opener

They will ship you the repeater for free. It's really a non-issue and they'll help you do the two step programming. (you program the repeater to your door, and then your car to the repeater) The only thing that bothered me about it is my garage door opener has a battery backup. But the...

2016 LR4 and Liftmaster garage + slide gate opener

That's a shame. I think mine is a Chamberlain, but was told they are the same as the Liftmaster. Guy on the phone (there was a number on the install instructions to call for help) walked me through it until we hit a bump, then talked me through alternatives. Never sent me to Homelink. Just to...

2016 LR4 and Liftmaster garage + slide gate opener

I couldn't get it to work on my 2005 or my 2013 without the additional box they send you which translates to something simple the LR can understand. Even though I think it's suppose to work, no luck. Call the 800 number for the garage door opener. They are pretty helpful, surprisingly. It's a...

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

Thanks. Yeah, I usually keep my hitch back there (with ball) so I'm used to my proximity sensor beeping EVERY time I put it in reverse. I ended up hitting one of those low parking lot poles one time because I'd gotten so used to ignoring it. That mistake cost me a tail-light... :(

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

Damn, now you got me thinking. I didn't realize the single was compact enough to leave on the vehicle and have all the normal rear access without having to lower it each time. Really? Hmmmm... I'm on their site now with a 3 bike rack in my cart, but it's pricey. And 95% of the time it'd...

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

Hey, an LR4 is on their home page! These guys are okay. ;)

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

Sent a PM, but figure I'd also post here in case anyone else chimes in; ...I've been thinking of buying this very rack. It is usually just me mountain biking (and I throw mine in the back of the LR4) but we do have a family of 4. It is not typical that we all ride so I figured a 3 bike setup...

15’ LR4 Roof Racks and equipment.

That looks nice. I probably wouldn't have gone that route if I saw something like it. I just needed a far forward bar and a far back bar, and cross bars. Seems like your solution accomplishes this. I also looked at the link you posted and I agree, your version looks much better than the stock...

    Anyone's alarm randomly going off?

Yeah, no worries. I was my mechanic that suggested it once I noted that I sometimes had to close that door extra hard. He suspected it was the sensor, as he'd replaced them before, but when he got inside the door he saw the mess left in there by the body shop and they were clearly the cause.

    Windshield and Rain Sensor

It is most likely your windshield. I had the exact same problem with the same windshield. You can see in THIS thread that my old FY part number was the same and my rain sensor did NOT work with that windshield. It was a CarMax replacement and it did have the heater wires in it and all. I...

    Anyone's alarm randomly going off?

I chased this on my LR3 as a hood latch sensor for a long time. I used the shorted out pins hack... seemed to work for a while. Then didn't. So I replaced the sensor (which is very easy to do). Originally it may have been the hood sensor, but then it was clearly something else... ...started...

Thanks! Yes, that is the one. I corrected my post. Cut and paste error on my part... :dontknow:

End of the road for me (for now)

Awesome. Thanks for the write-up and and for all the stoke and support you provided during your time in the sand. I have no doubt you will find yourself in a UK Diesel shortly! In the meantime, please post pictures of "gals in sleeping bags and sleeping pads in the fold flat rear sleeping...

15’ LR4 Roof Racks and equipment.

I bought this Front Runner 3 bar rack which fit my needs perfectly. They also sell a short version that is just the front. Or, as nymoto mentioned, you could get the full deck up there as well. Very versatile. REVIEW; Front Runner 3 Bar Roof Rack (Load Bar Kit) For me, I was very close to...

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

Thanks! I've been very happy with them. No creaking or noise whatsoever. I don't have a compressor cover so I can't comment. Regarding install, @mbw used to have a set (I almost bought off him) and he reported no issues installing or removing a couple times. They're heavy, and as I don't...

    OCD GLOVE BOX ORGANIZATION

Yes, that's where I put it. Passenger side of the rear view. It is in the dotted area for the most part. I don't notice it up there from inside or outside. I mean, you can see it...but it seems less obvious for some reason, maybe the tint. &%^$! Crap!! Thanks for the post, though. Mine came...

    OCD GLOVE BOX ORGANIZATION

I know I mentioned this above, but if you put it high center, the new ones will be completely obscured by the black-out area in the LR4 windshield. I have the older model and the bottom half of it sticks out. Isn't too noticeable, IMO. It even seems to work in that location when I have a box...

    OCD GLOVE BOX ORGANIZATION

I have my EZ PASS inside my windshield at the top center. I have a heated windshield. It's way up top, mostly concealed by the blackout LR has around the rear view. Just mentioning to note that I haven't noticed any RF shielding. I am definitely at the end of the life on this pass. I didn't...

    OCD GLOVE BOX ORGANIZATION

@nymoto , thanks for the post! Lead to some discussion on some other items I bought. I like your solution. My upper glove box is also a bit of a mess and pens and things fall out when I'm digging for something. I also never realized there was pen holder there! :) Really? Wow. I do have...

    Anyone with ProSpeed sliders?

@TCM75 , not to muddy your decision waters, but figured I'd throw out the ones I installed last year (Voyager Rock Sliders With Step) into the mix as they seem to fit your criteria. I also looked at the two you mentioned, but ended up with these. They are heavy duty functional sliders, and they...

Making a case for the D5

I bought a tree this week and was happy to have the split gate on my LR4 to accommodate the tree height. Kept the window open for the drive home but didn't have to leave the entire ass end hanging up like that. You do what you got to, though.

    Pirelli Scorpion Zero

That's too bad about your Nittos. I feel like I read a lot of positive reviews on them here, maybe not the case... (Note, I also had bad luck with Pirellis on my LR3. Will never buy them again)

Making a case for the D5

You must be talking about with the third row seat up, yes? If so, pretty much every SUV out there consumes all available space with that stupid 3rd row. They have to put those rarely used seats in to compete against each other in max seating area. Even though most people always keep them...

    Tow hitch question

I use an Anti-Rattle Receiver pin to avoid this. There seem to be several devices out there to address this problem, but I got a couple made my U-Haul that work well. In my case, I use a hitch extender to get my rear luggage tray further off the ground so it doesn't drag when I enter driveways...
