Regarding the conversion, shouldn't be an issue. When you remove the long rails you'll just have some exposed trench area up front that is normally covered by molding (on trucks without the rails). There is no problem leaving this exposed to the elements and it looks like it will be concealed... -

Yup, same experience around here. The dealers all commented that they pretty quickly sold out of the remaining new inventory and the used market also benefitted. Probably don't have to comment on that ridiculous post above, but I will anyway... Maybe she represents the new market LR is trying...- toddjb122

This LR4 Drives Great in the SAND!
Great pics and tips, @nymoto ! That hammock is on the wish list. Probably the windscreen version of your tarp also (hoping the mesh grabs less wind). Nice truck pics. But I still prefer our rigs pictured on sand. ;) -
Front Runner Roof Rack on OEM Rails
If you use the factory cross bars on OEM side rails, I think there are 4 positions where you can put the crossbars. Whatever the number, the long side rails give you one more position. That's it. But, that does let you get a wider spread from front to back which is more stable for long... -
Rear locker comes on more often than I thought

I did see those while looking for racks, and thought that was a nice option. I wouldn't want to get rid of the sunroof in any case, at a minimum, it's nice for venting. My point was the moonroof. There should be an option to order without that when you're going to be putting a tray up there...- toddjb122

I missed that when looking closely at the D5. All I saw was that stupid auto retracting dong looking ball available in the UK. What is different about the D5 hitch design that gets rid of the tongue weight limitations on the LR3/LR4? Very cool. They must have gotten a kick out of you wheeling...- toddjb122

You're not kidding. It's awful. You have 7 days to install it when they will take it back. So you have to be ready to hit the ground running as soon as you get it. After 7 days they don't take it back. And after a month, they don't take it back even if you didn't install it. Big restocking... -
My '13 let's me start without the key fob and drive far away...
Try this some time, just to see if it's a "feature" I'm not aware of. Unlock your LR4 by pushing the button on the key fob. Then leave your keys outside your car. Start it up and go for a drive.... Be curious to see if everyone can do that. Unfortunately, I can.o_O -

Does the navigation suck or is it just me?
Someone did this a while back on an LR3. I think in his case, he didn't have the NAV screen so it meant less to tear out, but you get the idea... iPad mini in an LR3 -

Thanks! Do you by chance know if those (H11) are the right size for our fogs? Also, ad states they are dimmer than OEM bulbs, but maybe they mean headlights. Should be plenty bright for fogs. Im fine with the halogens, but know that the LED lights have come a long way in the past few years... -

My headlights are white. As are the LED running lights. The fog lights are yellow.... they just don't match. (on a '13 HSE LUX) I wanted to replace the fog light bulbs with a comparable white light. Maybe brighter than current bulbs but without bothering oncoming drivers. Any suggestions... -
