little update. i did not reset the CEL. called my wife today and she said it was no longer on. so, it looks like the CRC cleaning of the MAFS worked. for a while at least. i'll let you all know if the code comes back. -

I'm wondering if the 1996 D1 is safe to drive with the p0102 code and CEL on? I know this is a low voltage to MAF code but don't know exactly what that means. Am I doing fast permanent damage to the 02 sensors or fouling anything else up? Thanks, -

ok. CEL finally came on today. took it in and found a P0102 code. which points to a bad MAF. guess i fried it. it was the original MAF so, she had a good run. Thanks everyone for your help and input. -

unhooked the battery over night to let the ECU reset. No change in the driving or starting. I guess i'm going to throw the old plugs back in and see what happens, since regapping the new ones didn't work. the old plugs were rc12mc4. the new ones are rn11yc4. I'm fairly certain this is... -
