Just drove through some light flakes in Chicagoland today and the stock contis were already losing grip on braking with just a light gloss on the road. There are some KO2s in my future methinks.
You know what's worked great for me as of late? "Hey Siri - Play ______" All I need is bluetooth or hardwire input. It works great! (mind you I have Apple Music)
Geez...ya...if my dealer was $75 consistently I'd probably do it just to get out as well. Personally I've never looked at it since having the MityVac but my guess is it won't be that. I'd also have to weigh the cost of me being there looking at other rides/sold to/etc. :)
I agree with all of this. Let's not start trying to be insurance claims adjusters on this site. There are so many things that could go wrong with giving people the idea that working on their own ride would somehow invalidate their insurance claim. Call your agent and ask if they have...
You know I don’t know if it was “instadeath” as I saw a battery warning a few weeks ago and sort of shrugged it off when I didn’t have any other issues like others have reported. Then “boom” it died. I suppose I might need to setup a trickle system given my low mileage use.
The funny part of this is that there I was all gleeful about this tiny modification and I was so excited to go out that night and see them on the ground. Hopped into it in the garage and the battery was so low it wouldn't crank. I immediately thought: "Oh no, what have I done?" Turns out I...
They are a frivolous item entirely. Sometimes you just gotta give your ride a little cheesy upgrade to keep the flame alive. :) I thought my wife would eye roll at them but turns out she likes them so it's a win-win!
Oh quick tip for anybody that tries this...the front door lamps stop sending power if disconnected. You have to close and open the door again to get the light on. This isn't the case with the back doors.
Sure they're "glam" but they're fun and super easy to install. Way brighter than the stock puddle lamp and gives it that premium look. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PFZWJWY/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I blame @RoverThinker for this idea. :)
VW makes chrome hub caps that snap in to do that to the steelies. Those pop right off. My position on these wheels though is: If they do fit, they are likely not rated for the load of the LR4. The amarok probably isn't even close to the weight of the LR4.
Personally if I end up having to do more winter driving in Chicago (thank goodness I don't) I'd be looking at moving down to 18s to get the taller/stronger sidewall. Those potholes are epic in the Chicago winter wonderland.
I drove through some of the nasty deep stuff over the past few winters with the stock craptastic Contis. In this area I really don't think you need dedicated snow tires for the amount and frequency here. I'd say you'd be fine with the Nokian WR G3. <oh no, not another tire thread ;)>
Yeah, it's not a unicorn when you drive it around Chicagoland but it's nice and rare outside of the metro area. Srsly though...if you do end up wanting to swap wheels I'm mostly serious. :) Mine have conti's with 20k miles on them:)
Looks like they're fairly vague on the "fuel system" but if it covers the pump that would require pulling the tank out anyhow. So I'd say get a detailed work estimate from the mechanic, call the warranty company and see where it goes.
Yup. Northern Chicagoburbs are filled with 3rd and 4th car "toys." They pop up every so often with ridiculously low miles and they get traded at the end of the warranty. Shhh...it's a secret :)
You'd have to look at the warranty specifics to find out if they would cover it. I would think this is something they'd cover as it's not exactly wear and tear. To diagnose this and fix it would require them dropping the tank. Odds are the leak is on the filler neck not the tank itself. I'd...
Yeah, my only regret is that I jumped on the Black one with Tan (almost bought a '12 with Green / Tan) without holding out for a White edition with Tan. I wanted out of my sh*tbox F150 ASAP and pounced on the '13 because it only had 24k miles after 4 years. :)
LOL - seems like someone got some sense knocked into them after the 2nd one. :)
Also - on the topic of the tan interior I'm with you. I'll never go back to black or dark gray after having the tan. Love how it makes the entire inside feel so open and huge compared to the dark interior.
I'm...
