Nice! Ever since I bought my LR I've been trying to convince my wife that her next car should be a LR or RR but she's super content with the 11 year old XC90. We drove that through an ice storm on I65 with all seasons and it was glued to the road. We passed countless ditched cars, trucks...
Thanks - I understand the compound differences and temps. I just hate how in this area in the spring it could be subzero one day and 70 the next and then I have to do a quick flip of the winter tires so I don't kill them on the road. I think for now I'm going to see how this winter goes and...
Ok - I have to ask as I am in the midwest we do get a fair amount of snow at times. Are you guys mounting winter tires with the expectation of using them offroad at some point or is it simply because the all season tires don't work well with the fluff on the roads? I've driven through a...
Partially threadjacked this one...but I'd have to say for a daily driver I'd probably think this: LR4>XC90>D5. If I had no LR4 option I'd go XC90 before D5.
Were you on an extended warranty? I dealt with two different ford dealerships for over a month trying to get my F150 fixed and I was able to prove lies all over the place between the two of them. I went after the general manager of both and also opened a case with the Attorney General (for...
I've noticed that I see movement without a gps signal in the Chicago underground. I think somebody spent a ton of resources to have the computer calculate movement plus direction from the compass to cover when the gps signal fails. That's probably why you're seeing movement with no signal.
There's a sneaky upgrade out there to take the new matrix dash from the 2014+ and install it in the earlier 2010-2013 models. Nobody has been clear on the whole procedure nor the sourcing of the parts.
I have a hard time with the lack of "user review" on this solution. It looks cool and I might be interested but the majority of youtube videos are made by the Navtool company. The only real reviews I could find were in a Corvette forum and they were raving about it. (I don't think it's hard to...
if that's the case I see two options here:
1: risk the $550 and let us know how that goes
2: Trade in for a carplay enabled LR (I think all the 2018 have carplay by default)
Not sure you needed to f bomb the Ford on this one but I get where you're going. I drove two different carplay enabled 2017 cars last year and found the experience infuriating. If you run an app that isn't in carplay it bails out on the main screen in the car. The experience to get back to...
I wonder if there's a hinged mount that could fit it over the display that would let you flip it up to see the screen...or one that might slide to the side. Hmmm. Time to pull out the drawing board!
I should look at some Android tablets as well since the split screen on Android is awesome and...
If you want to drop $550 to have a 3rd party system interrupt the factory system that's a pretty steep cost...especially when you could just mount an iPad mini on the dash and share your internet from your phone and just use it via bluetooth. Any car I've driven with Android Auto/CarPlay/Hybrid...
Ok - I'm no pro in terms of this but my 2013 has always looked like it has a tiny lean when parked...I don't know what the computer does to level after parking but mine does some little 'hiss' and sort of levels/lowers after the doors are all closed. Is it still messed up when it's idling or...
Oh I know there's a hundred ways for it to happen. My state doesn't require keeping the registration in the car and the same for the insurance. As long as I can produce both within 24 hours of incident then it's fine. I'm just not about making it easier for someone to do bad things with ease...
