Partially threadjacked this one...but I'd have to say for a daily driver I'd probably think this: LR4>XC90>D5. If I had no LR4 option I'd go XC90 before D5. -

The auto-up stuff usually fails when the battery is going. Seems most things you're reporting would point to that being the possible situation. -
2012 LR4 GPS showing me 150 miles away....
I've noticed that I see movement without a gps signal in the Chicago underground. I think somebody spent a ton of resources to have the computer calculate movement plus direction from the compass to cover when the gps signal fails. That's probably why you're seeing movement with no signal. -

There's a sneaky upgrade out there to take the new matrix dash from the 2014+ and install it in the earlier 2010-2013 models. Nobody has been clear on the whole procedure nor the sourcing of the parts. -
