Steering wheel shaking after rotor/pads replacement

Then I went back and read this post and the commentary...I'm now thinking spend a few more $ for sake of sanity.

Steering wheel shaking after rotor/pads replacement

I think I'm just going to jump at doing all 4 as soon as possible. I have about 35k miles on my '13 now and they're squeaking all over and now I'm starting to get a slight wobble so I think I have some rotor warping happening. Going to call them up and see if they can set me up. It's worth a...

    Questions About 20’s

Hair dryer won't do it. Hit up Harbor Freight for a cheapo heat gun. You'll be able to flex things and occasionally brown a turkey at Thanksgiving like I did. :)

Those look nice. I assume you need a dash switch for them?

    Squealing brakes...

Well, today it started making squealing noises at speed. High pitched at about 40mph - tap the brakes, it disappears. Slowly creeps back and starts doing it again. Tap the brakes, goes away. I'm thinking it's a 4 wheel pad/rotor time given that these are probably originals. It's weird that...

    LA Auto Show coverage

Yeah - auto shows are notorious for things that will never come to be. There's no way they'd let that spare placement fly in the US as it demolishes all rear visibility.

Made the move from LRII to LRIII

I don't know. At first I thought this was funny...now I wonder if you're playing a fool or trying to make us answer everything. It might be time to ditch it and go back to a disco 2 if these little things are over your head.

    2012 LR4 Speaker Replacement

Here's the door trim removal instructions. Once you have that off it should be pretty straightforward to replace the speaker - let me know if you need that guide though.

    Honda Passport

Unless you're really short (5 foot bed) I wouldn't count on sleeping in it. The longer wheelbase would be a concern for most true offroaders.

    LR4 Navigation Update...

Which is precisely why I consider my "phone" to be the tech marvel and just did what you don't like and mounted and hid the wires as best as I could.

    LR4 Navigation Update...

This map update doesn't include any other main system updates or improvements, right? I was just looking at it and it's marked down to $149 right now from LR but I'm not sure it's worth it if it's only maps.

LR3/4 lovers, fret not. Replacement maybe on the way.

The LR3 guys have me hooked on thinking if I want a pony to play with it's the one. My LR4 is being babied as a DD and I plan to keep it that way. Regular maintenance and upkeep should keep it going for a long time. Maybe I'll find some magical slush fund to get a 3 for more...

    What did they do!!!

Do you have a mileage in/out on the invoice? If he's saying that's "how the truck came to him" then he would have had to put some miles on it before to diagnose it and then after to validate the repair. I had a war with two Ford service centers in the past and didn't need to "lawyer up" but I...

    Gearbox Fault!

Yes...codes with possible solutions. Major component categories, etc. We could basically build our own DIY maintenance database and cross reference for the things that aren't well documented. (Maybe we could stop arguing about tires (tyres) too)

We should really have some sort of wiki for these types of things

This is exactly why I wouldn't buy it. I don't trust AC Delco for anything.

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

Just for reference I might be a little jaded on the topic as I used "10k" oil in my 1999 intrepid. The oil sludged and caused the guides to wear and basically blew up the engine. Since then I tend to be a little gun-shy on oil changes. A trusted mechanic told me once that if you're in it for...

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

No. I find 7500 to be fine with full synthetic. I'm not up to pushing it to 10k or beyond because it's just not worth the risk. If I was putting in the exact grade of LR mfg oil and had a warranty maybe I'd do their mileage just to see how it goes.

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

The people that don't do a yearly or more often than 15k are probably the same ones that don't use Top Tier gas. Sure it costs a few more $ but you own a luxury offroader. Crack your wallet open or dump it to somebody that will.
