There's less metal as a base when the rotor is turned. Even if it's in tolerance the rotor will heat faster, wear faster, warp faster. Believe it or not they may be actually trying to save you labor dollars by replacing them.
Not to be a skeptic but every time a brake conversation comes up out comes Azoo with the maxbrakes recommendation. I'm not sold on these at all...I think he's probably the only person using them. While I know $$ doesn't always mean quality you have to wonder why you'd go with an off brand that...
It's possible that the new pads would be required if the rotors caused some deep scaring or wearing issues due to the lip on the rotor. If you're going to keep the rotors then you should like have them "turned" or machined down to a new surface. Odds are you don't have enough rotor depth to do...
Says the guy that had no issue discussing this in another thread in 2018. ;) I read somewhere once upon a Time thanks to google that it was because they cut down on frame density and a lot of major vehicles have these. I know everything I read on the internet is true so I like to repeat it.
There's another thread somewhere here talking about how awesome these are: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JQR2XWW/?coliid=I1R1TODCEHA4RL&colid=B69VVEP6WT3M&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I'm in favor of swapping up to LED personally.
eh...I get tired of the bullish "go google it" response. I come here for answers all the time that get better context and discussion than some random internet search result. If you can't ask others a question, what's the point?
They're designed to eliminate vibration in the frame and absorb noise. They reduced the frame density to save weigh and increase mpg. Then they have to add these back in to compensate for the increased vibration from a lighter frame. So much for mpg gain.
Yeah - I agree. I'm trying to sway the wife to consider a LR3/4 as the eventual replacement for the XC90 but we're not there yet because that thing is a beast and takes a beating. I don't want a tool that's locked to my vehicle. I'd be curious if they're planning on adding the keyfob...
Yeah it looks like it's by model with a $199 option to add another model later. No vin lock appeals to me and it looks like it's feature complete. The reviews online are all 5 stars.
Yeah, I've considered the 3 as well. It's really hard to go back (in technological terms) from the 4 to 3 though. It's also much tougher to find a clean owned LR3 these days.
Gotta move inventory … wouldn't be shocked if the prices overall even on new start dropping fast with them showing that huge sales drop and loss last year.
Share some links? I looked around and couldn't find any HSE like that nationwide with the LR site. I see SE models at that price...nobody ever buys "base" :P
I advise against the CD drive holder. It's needlessly messing upuand blocking the slot.
I don't like in vent as they slip around. I've been using pro-clip in mine and they're great. A little pricey but worth it.
