2016 Land Rover LR4 (Discovery 4) Project Build
They are just a pain to remove, that's all. They feel like they are going to break and you can end up with bloody fingers, but in the end they will come out. Using an old credit card to get some leverage might help. There was a thread here somewhere with this exact topic.- Surfrider77

Indeed, but there is a lot to be desired in the standard LR stereo considering the price of the truck. I have had $20k econo shitbox rental cars with 10x better sound. But yea, I know modern electronics is LR's Achilles heel.- Surfrider77

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels
You won't have rubbing issues at 265/65 either, but you would have to remove heat shield and air down a bit to fit the spare. I'd imagine the 265/60 should fit under there, but you would need to ask someone else who runs them for sure.- Surfrider77

I used to run Nitto Dune Grapplers, tho I really didn't care much for the look of the treads. That said, they were excellent in the sand. They were pretty much great for dry pavement and sand, which is this country's environment 99% of the time. They performed average to bad on anything else...- Surfrider77

It should go without saying, but there is a huge difference between a tow strap and a recovery ("snatch") strap. Buzzing sound when raising from low clearance to regular height
Also keep in mind, the compressor doesn't just run to fill the air suspension only. There is a pretty big steel air reservoir tank running the length of the passenger side along the frame. This is not true. You get all the available gears 1-6, they are just far shorter giving more torque and far less top speed. You cut your speed down massively, but nowhere near that bad. (I drive dunes in low gear quite often) And to the Original Poster: Never swap High / Low range on the move...- Surfrider77

Good overall post! As you said, conditions will vary results massively. This also goes for low range. I am literally in the desert scaling 100-150ft sand dunes. Water Pump leak / TSB?

Looks amazing! Nearly the perfect setup, IMO! As mentioned before though, I would ditch the Rods and use an IID Tool. I have the exact same wheel / tire setup and size as you and even with stock height I have no rubbing. You can use the IID Tool to raise as needed for off-road use.- Surfrider77

Yea, friend had a Wrangler and always complained about it as a daily driver. It drove like a tank, he couldn't even fit his golf clubs in back without removing the seat (2dr), the audio sucked BAD, etc etc. I know it is significantly cheaper than an LR4, but the Jeep has far far too much plastic...- Surfrider77

Yea, Defender has always been far more utilitarian. Not all the crazy lux bells and whistles. There's no way they should expect to price it anywhere near the LR4. This SVO SVX whatever version of the LR4 will probably be nosebleedingly expensive. 80-90k at a guess.- Surfrider77

Going over sharper bumps like medium stones on harder surfaces pronounced the first clunks that I heard. When I took it to the dealer, the service guy performed the exact same procedure you described. Gps maps update
All cars need Google Maps. It's the gold standard at this point. No need to re-invent the wheel and have each manufacturer doing their own crappy versions of Sat Navs with infrequent and expensive updating. Google will update constantly for free. I think Tesla is the only one using Google Maps?- Surfrider77
