Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

I avoid any 3rd party sellers on Amazon like the plague. I only go with "shipped and sold by Amazon".

Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

There are other Amazon posts about fakes being shipped as well. I would still try and make contact with Amazon. They are world class for returns / customer service. Especially if they are shown in a bad light shipping fake products in their name.

Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

The fact they are ballooning out doesn't inspire confidence that the blue skin won't tear under stress.

Micro-Start XP-10 jump starter - Tested, it works great

I would also imagine the heat in your truck is the culprit. Not hard to think it gets pretty far out of operating temps stored inside an oven. Website doesn't seem to offer a temp range. Does the owner's manual? Also to note: The Amazon reviews are all full of pics with swelled batteries /...

Real world MPG on the LR4

I haven't reset mine in well over a year. I pulled mine up yesterday and it reported 13.1 MPG average. Yikes!

    Showoff Your LR4

Hell, even the Raptors come with 17" wheels. TONS of choice in that size. 18" has a great selection too. 19" is this no mans land of off-road choice.

    Showoff Your LR4

As the rigs weigh the same, I wonder how quickly those things burn through the smaller brakes. I thought it was bad enough on ours.

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

Costs about $14 too all-in. Lift wash, engine wash, exterior and interior cleaned. Joys of living in the middle east with cheap labor. lol

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

Never noticed any issue. Some of my frequent dune driving is around coastal areas, so there is salt content in the sand. I am pretty meticulous about taking my truck to a car wash with a hydraulic lift and pressure washer and have them thoroughly blast out the underside of my truck. In the next...

Slider Comparison; anyone used either of these?

Yea, I love my Voyagers look and functionality but mine rusted instantly. If they think the racks need a zinc coat, I've no clue why they skimp on it for the sliders. Even with the powder coat they used, within a year I had it flaking off right behind the wheel and the connecting tubes where...

    LR4 Pre-purchase tips?

I don't think it is limited to 2010-2012. My 2013 was covered under TSB / warranty just 2 months ago.

    Replacement Side Air Vents

There's nothing wrong with ebay either. I bought OEM LR branded ones from there (including front grill).

    Moving on from the LR4...

I really like the look and the concept of the ZR2 Colorado, but fck me! $41k base price on a mid-sized pickup? That's just insane.

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

Pretty sure the LR3 and LR4 has the same 5 selectable Terrain Response modes. One of which is indeed "Sand". Explanation taken from elsewhere on the web: Sand: Starting off from rest in sand requires gentle throttle action, but once the vehicle is moving you want to get up on top and maintain...

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

Depends on the sand driving, but it's imperative to turn off DSC for dunes or else it kills any momentum you have trying to climb. If you are simply beach driving on relatively flat ground, I would guess it wouldn't hurt much leaving DSC turned on.

    Battery Warranty

I had no idea anything was wrong with mine. Truck seemed normal. It went in for a routine service around the 2 yr mark and when I was reviewing the paperwork on the services when I picked it back up, they said they replaced the battery. Didn't pass some test they perform. So, you might not have...

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

Another great non-LR video explaining and showing the massive difference deflating your tires makes in the sand.

Found a LR driving experience video that pretty much echoes everything I have said in the thread.

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

My crummy little dash video of my Disco in the dunes. Camera doesn't give a real impression of the dune's size / vertical face. It was kinda nuts. Little side note: You can also hear my Magnaflow exhaust I had back then. It's a shame it drones so bad, else I would have kept it. Removed it in...

    Broke my glass roof

Talk about bad luck hitting at just the right angle. I've had my fair share of bad luck too though. 2 windshields in 4 years. =/

Is this possible to remove '16 LR4 running boards?

The simple fact is, the frame design was the same from 2003-2014 or whenever it was they implemented the running boards as standard. It's likely due to more stringent NHTSA side impact rules, but that doesn't mean the millions of LR3 & LR4s prior to it are some ticking time bomb of death. I...

    Sand Driving - Experiences/Technique/Equipment

I wasn't talking about capability, I was talking about wheel protection (sidewalls). Hitting a buried obstacle like a rock, etc would pretty much guarantee your rims damaged on stock tires while aired down. There's very little sidewall & even less on the 20s.
