    Bad suspension compressor

There was an older version compressor that was prone to failure. So much that Land Rover changed brands entirely. @umbertob would know exactly when the production change occurred and the name of the compressors. Long story short, it is a possibility. However I would be suspicious that all this...

    Looking for floor jack recommendations

Just looked it up. Jeez, it weighs over 100lbs! There has to be a happy medium between our crappy scissor jack and this behemoth.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

That's hard to say because everything is overpriced here. I think I will email BFG customer support and ask some questions. The last thing I want is counterfeit tires. The place I bought them from is the sole distributor of BFG tires in Qatar though, so it seems highly unlikely.

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

100% sure I have 265/65/18 TA KO2 with a big "D" load rating stamp on the sidewall. (I wanted the 285/60s, but they would take 2 months to special order in this country)

    LR5 Release Updates?

I do agree, there looks to be a hell of lot more overhang behind the rear wheels. That will certainly be a hindrance for some off-road situations. That said, I think this new LR5 has moved far too upscale in both price and street configuration for me to ever consider purchasing it for off-road...

Everything about tires for LR4/ LR3 with 18" wheels

Bumping this informative thread. Changed the tires out on my truck today. I got a massive gash in one of my 285/60/18 Nitto Dune Grappler tires. They do not make this size tire anymore and I wasn't interested in mixing / matching tires so I went ahead and replaced all 5. They got 3 solid years...

    Thoughts on new forum layout?

?? You do not have to be signed in to see all the posts. What I meant was you need to be signed in to click the link and automatically be taken to the last post that you read (to pick up where the thread left off when you last browsed). If you are not signed in, how would the forum know what...

    Showoff Your LR4

The LR4 is amazing with sand mode, but don't be fooled. I have been stuck a few times. Airing down gives you a significantly bigger footprint! Not really a big deal if you have a means of recovery (other trucks with snatch straps, or MAXTRAX, etc). Just be careful if you are ever out the solo!

    Showoff Your LR4

Beautiful pics! Though I must say, nothing in those pics looks like sand. Sand mode and "airing down" are relevant when you are on soft beach sand / desert sand dunes. Glad to hear you had a great trip!

Just a really old gaming community website. Nothing truck related!

    Thoughts on new forum layout?

With the new XenForo forum, you simply have to click the main thread title and it will automatically open to the last post you had previously read. If you haven't read any of it, it will open on the first post of the first page. (all provided you are logged into your account)

    Thoughts on new forum layout?

New forum is great! The irony is that one of my old long time forums I browse changed over to XenForo about 3 weeks back, so this is pretty familiar already! It has been great there and I am sure it will be here as well. The biggest improvement is browsing on mobile! Nice work admins.

    Lease Rates and Invoice Prices

This is a sore subject for me. My 2nd charge port on the right of the shifter has NEVER worked since I bought the truck from new. They have looked at it twice on 2 diff services and still haven't figured it out.

    Lease Rates and Invoice Prices

Yea, the current reverse-flow twin turbo V8 in the X5, X6, 5, 6, and 7 series is pretty damn amazing. As you said, 445hp / 480lb ft of torque. Turbos are on top of the engine to minimize turbo lag and the intake is from the bottom (reverse flow). Simply an amazing engine. There are Dinan tunes...

    Installed 275-55-20 tires on 20x9.5 +32 wheels

I am your resident sand expert here in the desert. You need to first identify what surface you are most frequently driving on. Sand and Mud patterns are pretty much exact opposite, so if you are good in one you are typically bad in the other. Mud, you need wide blocks to eject packed mud out of...

    Lease Rates and Invoice Prices

I came from an X5 myself. Not sure what year your X5 is, but just to warn you.. the electronics system as a whole (infotainment, etc) will feel like it is from the stone age, comparatively. Going from my 2012 X5 to my 2013 LR4 felt like the LR was a decade older. It leaves a lot to be desired...

Anyone running Rover's North 2" lift rods?

Yes, the IID tool will override via software and more importantly, you can fine tune it. The rods are a mechanical override and the length of the rod = same lift. IID tool you can make different profiles with varying lift (or drop) heights. No fumbling around under the truck for rods, just a...

It's Done. LR4 is gone. Compos, OEM Hitch for sale

Heya Dan! We didn't chat much directly, but I echo the others. I really enjoyed reading about your trail adventures. I sincerely hope to hear back from you after a few off-road trips and hear an unbiased comparison about how you are getting along with your LC vs your experience in your LR4...

2012 LR4 18,000 miles replacing the breaks myself.

Just paid $2k for a full job (front and rear pads, rotors, and sensors) from the dealership. Ouch. Note: all were just below spec and I had the pad warning message for a month now. Truck is at 37.2k miles.

    Gas gauge reading

I literally just filled up my '13 V8 with 90.X liters this morning. I still have the receipt. I still had ~30km left showing on the range display, so there was clearly quite a bit of fuel in the tank. I have run the truck to 0 range a couple times but never paid that close attention to how much...

    Turning off DSC?

I believe you need to hold the button a second or two for it to disable the DSC system (for obvious safety reasons). As the previous poster said, once it is disabled you will get a light and notification on the dash.

    Source for TPMS sensors...Black Compos on a 2016 LR4

Yea, no need to be a dick about it. It was an honest opinion from myself and quite a few others on the forum. TMPS sensors when I looked were about $100 a piece. x5? Just crazy. The only reason they are on the vehicles is because of stupid D.O.T. laws for vehicle manufacturers. If you can't...

    Source for TPMS sensors...Black Compos on a 2016 LR4

My honest opinion.. they aren't needed. The amount of money you would spend on TPMS sensors could buy you an IID Tool with cash left to spare. With that IID Tool, you can disable the TPMS sensors to get rid of the alarm, plus have all of the tools like air suspension override control and the...

How to remove bottom door molding - installing sliders

Yep, you have to break those little plastic fasteners that hold them in place. (You can buy replacements for a few bucks on Amazon if you ever want to replace the stock molding.)
