That's hard to say because everything is overpriced here. I think I will email BFG customer support and ask some questions. The last thing I want is counterfeit tires. The place I bought them from is the sole distributor of BFG tires in Qatar though, so it seems highly unlikely.- Surfrider77

LR5 Release Updates?
I do agree, there looks to be a hell of lot more overhang behind the rear wheels. That will certainly be a hindrance for some off-road situations. That said, I think this new LR5 has moved far too upscale in both price and street configuration for me to ever consider purchasing it for off-road...- Surfrider77

Bumping this informative thread. Changed the tires out on my truck today. I got a massive gash in one of my 285/60/18 Nitto Dune Grappler tires. They do not make this size tire anymore and I wasn't interested in mixing / matching tires so I went ahead and replaced all 5. They got 3 solid years...- Surfrider77

Showoff Your LR4
The LR4 is amazing with sand mode, but don't be fooled. I have been stuck a few times. Airing down gives you a significantly bigger footprint! Not really a big deal if you have a means of recovery (other trucks with snatch straps, or MAXTRAX, etc). Just be careful if you are ever out the solo!- Surfrider77

Beautiful pics! Though I must say, nothing in those pics looks like sand. Sand mode and "airing down" are relevant when you are on soft beach sand / desert sand dunes. Glad to hear you had a great trip!- Surfrider77

Yea, the current reverse-flow twin turbo V8 in the X5, X6, 5, 6, and 7 series is pretty damn amazing. As you said, 445hp / 480lb ft of torque. Turbos are on top of the engine to minimize turbo lag and the intake is from the bottom (reverse flow). Simply an amazing engine. There are Dinan tunes...- Surfrider77

I came from an X5 myself. Not sure what year your X5 is, but just to warn you.. the electronics system as a whole (infotainment, etc) will feel like it is from the stone age, comparatively. 2012 LR4 18,000 miles replacing the breaks myself.
Just paid $2k for a full job (front and rear pads, rotors, and sensors) from the dealership. Ouch. Note: all were just below spec and I had the pad warning message for a month now. Truck is at 37.2k miles.- Surfrider77

I literally just filled up my '13 V8 with 90.X liters this morning. I still have the receipt. I still had ~30km left showing on the range display, so there was clearly quite a bit of fuel in the tank. Turning off DSC?
I believe you need to hold the button a second or two for it to disable the DSC system (for obvious safety reasons). As the previous poster said, once it is disabled you will get a light and notification on the dash.- Surfrider77
