    The Snorkel

My experience with the Land Rover Raised Air Intake was positive. I did not see any change in mileage, but in fact, did note a small, but perceptible increase in throttle response. At a certain RPM, there was a very slight whistle of air being drawn into the intake, but unless I was holding...

What's the worst that can happen?

Yes, and skinny so it'd clear the upper a-arm knuckle!

What's the worst that can happen?

SocalLR3, the 285/60/18 is 31.5" or thereabouts. It rubs just a bit on full compression and a bit more on the bump stops, but they do work, as you have noticed. I think the BFG's are just a bit taller, but still just under 32". I think the BFG's are just a bit too tall should you experience...

What's the worst that can happen?

Fame? Hmmm... how about notoriety, as I suspect that is closer to the mark :-) As for your own credibility, I have nothing but the highest respect for your actions and demeanor on all the forums with which we frequent, as well as numerous second hand campfire sessions and so forth. You've...

What's the worst that can happen?

True, you just have to worry about flats and sidewall damage due to the fact your sidewall is too short/shallow to allow sufficient flex around objects such as sharp rocks. Around here in SoCal, low profile tires are nor effective off road due to our geology. But on the flip size, you can...

What's the worst that can happen?

Over the past few years, I have been asked the "what tire size do you recommend" question literally hundreds and hundreds of times. I always recommend staying under 31.5", and I am not a proponent of the Rod Mod.

The mystery of the black lug nuts that keep breaking...

The lugnut on the left does not look like any LR3 lugnut I've seen.

    Newbie considering a LR3...any advice?

Heated seats in the LR3 suck? Wow, that's not been my experience. My family joked that there only two settings: Waffle or Toast !

After reseating your gas cap, try touching the two battery cables together to clear the faults.

    K&N Air Filter

I think the response above do indicate a noticeable difference...a costly one!

    Air Pressure

BFG's run a little stiffer than some of the other all terrain tires. I think 40/42 on the road would be quite sufficient (I would experiment with 38 also), and between 18 to 20 psi on the trail.

LR3 winter snow hill ice - what to choose???

HDC is pretty useful if traction is very marginal, as you have described. Here is my little How To: Start the car, put it in grass/gravel/snow, then shift to neutral, put it in low range, then first gear by going into Drive, then push the gearshift to the left and then downshift until you see...

3 trips to dealership, still no answers..

Its possible that its just the limit stop on the control arm. All it takes to fix is a dab of grease, takes about 30 seconds to fix it. I saw this about 2 years on Disco3.co.uk. but I don't have time to search it right now.

GY DuraTrac or Toyo Open Country A/T

Size. Most of tfese tires don't come in the skinny 29" diameter of the stock Crapyears, so fitting chains is problematic in upsized tires. Not enough clearance between inner sidewall and upper front suspension arm.

    Need Advice LR service techs!

Yes and no. They can't laser align it in the dealers shop, but most dealers have auto body/collision centers that they partner with. They can absolutely have one of their vendors inspect the frame.

    NEW PRODUCT LR3/D3 Underbody Protection

Rasta4x4 makes the rear diff/skid to protect the exhaust, but the price you pay, might as well bob the exhaust like Scott did. Hey Scott, why don't you add that exhaust mod to LR3Tips? Neil, those look real nice. I particularly like the detail at the front and rear of the plates. Very nice...
