    Need Battery Advice

It's "general knowledge" that in the past few years, the Optima brand has taken a dive. Hundreds of off road enthusiasts reporting battery failures on new batteries. Go with the Oddessy/Interstate.

    Need Battery Advice

The Sears "Interstate Platinum" battery is the bomb. It's made by Oddessy, seriously good battery

    What's the diffrence??? 2006/2007 HSE

This is eminently logical, and thus, wrong. Remember, British electronics are at play here. The locking symbol will occur with or without the locker. It as if to say, "Look here chap, if you had a locker, I'd be activating it about now. Ah well, carry on, mind the rocky bits."

    Saying Hello, Disco3 owner

You Brits are always confusing the D3 with a submarine!

    LR3 Christmas for me.

Tires are definately important, but not the locker. You can do it all without, it just takes a slight bit more finesse. Definately do start out moderate until you learn to spot the line, and learn who in your group can spot for you effectively.

    Tire Questions

That makes sense. With their similarity to the BFG AT's, the RF10's should do pretty well in snow. The AT's certainly do. You might be right about the Coopers, I really don't know, never got a chance to get mine in snow more than an inch or two deep, and that was on top of a dirt trail, so...

    Cd's jammed in changer!!

Yeah, not that uncommon. Dealer's fix is to replace the whole unit. My fix was to cycle the car on/off a few times and out it came.

    Tire Questions

I think you made a good choice. I've seen the Grabbers suffer on the trail, but have never seen the RF10's in person yet. They have stellar reviews and a great price. Why did you not consider the Coopers that most of us have had success with?

    LR3 Christmas for me.

Why not? LR3's have been on just about every hard trail Colorado offers. Also check out Solihul Society, a very active Colorado based LR club.

    ANy one installed Sill Protectors

If you intend to go off roading, please take them off. They reduce your breakover angle and ground clearance, and are not structurally sound enough to lean the vehicle upon without bending your body panels.

Boy oh Boy do I love snow

Holy Crap! I think that's the first time angasreid posted something positive about his LR3. Ironically, Hell does indeed appear to be freezing over.... LOL. All in good fun my friends.

    What's the diffrence??? 2006/2007 HSE

I think both seats work with the key off in 2007.

    Is Rasta4x4 still in business?

Lol, wait until you price the Kaymar. You've been complianing about cost since your first post on this forum. You're gonna LOVE how much Kaymar costs. USA distributor is Man-a-free (sp?) here on the west coast

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

JD, I generally agree with you, but then again, I don't. The LR3 is a unique vehicle, and wheels completely differently than a traditional solid axle vehicle. There are many times when very experienced trail leaders would give spotting advice to me and others with these modern rovers that...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Yes to all the above, and I would add that there is a pronounced difference in finish as well. Regarding sturdiness, they all seem to be sufficiently stout for typical use. No worries there with any brand. The main difference in sturdiness is that the RS sliders mount to frame and body...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Go for it! The best possible thing that could happen to the LR3 market is more choices. But you sorta phased out on the expensive part of the RS Sliders. More material is required, and significantly more labor than other traditional designs. As for margin, its nil. Everyone involved in...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Its funny how many people say this, then they see the sliders and go, Oh, now I understand. The Sliders for an FJ are completely uncomparable to the RS sliders. First, the FJ is a mass produced vehicle, that costs a fraction of the value of an LR3. So what? So many more people go wheeling...

    LR3 in the Sand

Saying the LR3 does fine is helpful, but telling him HOW to drive it in sand is going to bear more fruit: http://blog.nextstepdesigns.com/?p=62

    Best source for TSB

www.disco3.co.uk is the best place to research TSB's. Pretty high signal to noise ratio on that forum, but the humor is classic brit dry sarcasm, and quite entertaining if you have the time to wade through it all

    LR3 Accessories - Favorite vendors?

Rovers North, Atlantic British, British Pacific (not much for the LR3 though) and your local independant Rover mechanic are good sources. The Dealer is the worst possible source, as the Lowest they charge is MSRP.

    Broke my first part... replacement?

The shields are heat shields so that you don't cook your spare. This is something to think about if you run your full size spare down there, but no worries if you have the space saver spare tire. They are not an accessory, but they are somewhat superflous. I "trail modified" mine early on...

    Advice on reasonably priced parts

I used to get most of my parts from WestCoastRovers.com, an indy repair shop. Typically 30% less than dealership costs, or better, sometimes considerably better.
