    Steering colum U-Joint

There is a TSB for the linkage. It is associated with the "clunking sound from front end" that many of us experience. Its by no means the only cost, but it's a very cheap repair and is what the dealers perform first.

LOL, generally aim for images sized no larger than 1024x in width. Like this:

Where do you put your sunglasses?

I didn't have a nav screen, so I put my sunglasses and wallet in the cubby above the radio. Worked perfect for me. Also kept my SPOT there when I carried it along with me.

Can't hurt to ask what they have in stock. They'll be looking to unload.

    Problems With the LR3

How old is your battery? Frequently, that is the only exorcism you need to perform.

    OE Sliders

    1. You can do it yourself, all it takes is a cheap rolling floor jack and a block of wood. In my case, I am friends with the local Rover repair shop, so we used his lift. 2. Right.

    OE Sliders

The main mount is the two pylon mounts that are where the LR3 body is mounted to the frame. There are additional mounts that take advantage of the tackwelded nutserts in the door sill as well. I don't have a good photo of that, but you can see something similar in this photo below. The red...

    OE Sliders

Basically, everything inboard of the tall pylon mounts is where the sliders cover the frame. The "batwing" shape of the plate is the contour of the inside face of the frame tube. The sliders don't physically attach to the frame itself (although my first pair prototypes did). Simply having the...

    OE Sliders

Steel is more forgiving than aluminum, and it also slides over rocks better. These sill protector style of sliders are designed to dissapate impact load so that a point load impact (your truck landing on a rock) spreads across the entire sill length, thus reducing the potential to deform the...

    OE Sliders

Awesome! I LOVE how many products are finally coming to market for the LR3. It's about darn time. Competition is good. Here is an observation though: Those new slider/side step combo's appear to put a lot of cantilevered force on the side of the door sill. How thoroughly tested are they...

    OE Sliders

I really don't see how that matters? An impact can occur on the easiest of trails. One difficult breakover angle, awkward rock, or troublesome tree root is all it takes. A trail can be rated a 2 out of 10, but still have one minor threat that a moment of inattentiveness will lead to a...

    OE Sliders

I had a pair of those (or darn similar, from Rasta). I think the OE ones are much more stout. I bent the alumumin plate sliders, and it transmitted that bend into my door sill. In general, I like the RS product so much more because there are some important cables routed down through that...

    OE Sliders

I don't have them, but I have fondled them. They are a very cleanly executed, solid design. They are similar to the standard bar stock sliders like HighCountry, SG, RoverTyme, etc... but much better executed in design and finish. Almost too pretty, because scratches are noticeable when you...

    What happened to LRL?

Doug has sorta gone off the grid, and the magazine has closed up shop. Bummer, it was a nice mag. In it's place, I HIGHLY recommend Overland Journal.

Amen Brother. Baz, if you think HP's are the cheaper way to go, I have some property in New Orleans I'd like to sell you. Remember, it's spelled GoodForOneYear for a reason.

    Increase mileage on LR3

I agree with James. The oil on the K&N can foul your MAF, and the free flowing filter material allows more dust and contaminates to get through into your engine. Both are bad. If you live in mud and snow, maybe its good, but here in the dusty southwest, its not a great idea. In my opinion of...

    Gas Cap

There are none with a locking cap that I am aware of. You can't replace the cap itself either, because the darn thing was designed by NASA or similar. It's a very complicated, fault prone contraption that will throw some error codes sooner or later in your life.
