    pizza cutters...General Grabber ATx

Airing down to a psi in the low 20s from high 30s or 40s makes plenty of difference and gives plenty of benefit. In addition to increased traction, it just plain makes the ride more comfortable. If you're stuck in deep sand or gravel or trying to crawl over rock obstacles, then airing down all...

    pizza cutters...General Grabber ATx

Like I mentioned, I was surprised to see my exact same tire, exact size, offered in XL rating. Obviously that's not intended as a "passenger car" tire. When I get some time on my hands I'll dig deeper into the actual construction of my tire in E vs. XL. I have to get mine rotated so I'll talk...

    pizza cutters...General Grabber ATx

I've always assumed that XLs are passenger car tires with an extra belt or extra material somewhere to allow them to carry a heavier load, but I never considered them suitable for an off road tire for a heavy truck. I've always assumed LTs and Load Range E are best for heavy trucks like the...

Do your rear tires currently rub in the rear wheel wells, at the front and/or top of the rear wheel wells? This would only occur on full stuff or if you air down all the way to your bump stops. Or do your front tires rub the frame horns behind the front tires? I'm guessing your answer to each...

Why do american trucks get much better mpg that the lr4?

I've also noticed a huge difference in mpg if I set the cruise control at 75 mph vs. 80 or more. You really pay a penalty to push these pigs past 75. I can hit 15+ mpg at 70-75 mph vs. 13 over 80.

    Increased Performance

I've found options from Prospeed, APT, and Wildbear but none will ship to US. My lower control arm skids are Prospeed and I got them through Lucky 8 but the compressor skid is unobtanium, just like the Prospeed roof racks.

    Increased Performance

I had sliders on my 2004 D2 but never so much as touched them on rocks. I haven't put them on the LR4 for the same reason but maybe I should. The air compressor is tucked up along the frame rail and it's pretty well protected but I have hit it. My plastic cover is cracked apart and it vibrates...

    Increased Performance

That's my whole point...the wheel wells are too small. You can only fit up to about a 31.5" tire without rubbing in the wheel wells, which is too small for these trucks in my opinion. I have 32" Nitto Ridge Grapplers (275/65/18) and I do rub in the rear wheel wells if on the bump stops. I...

    Increased Performance

The only upgrade I really need on these LR4s is bigger wheel wells. They are just too low to the ground and heavy for little 30" to 32" tires.

    front drivetrain noise

I had a rotating/thumping noise and it turned out to be my front differential. Replaced at 111K miles.

Loosing a little bit of coolant

I had a little coolant leak with a small golf ball to baseball size circle on the driveway. Turns out the radiator had a pinhole leak. I wouldn't let any coolant leak on any Land Rover go unattended, especially not an LR4.

    maintenance history since new 2013

I don't include tires or other extras such as winch, aftermarket wheels, roof rack, lights, skid plates, etc. in my "maintenance and repair" totals. Fuel isn't included either. So with no tires or extras in the calcs, I am at $0.52 per mile over 48,949 miles.

    maintenance history since new 2013

I've had my 2013 LR4 for about 3.25 years and my maintenance costs total $9,621 and my repair costs total $15,817 for a total of $25,439. Maintenance includes standard stuff like oil & filter changes and brake jobs. Repair includes replacing parts such as control arms, air struts, front diff...

    Think these will fit?

It's almost like the world is telling you that maybe you should buy wheels made for the actual vehicle on which you are going to mount them.

Coolant Crossover Pipe Repair 5.0 V8

I took my 2013 to the mechanic's shop yesterday afternoon after seeing a coolant leak. My crossover pipes were done long ago. Turns out it's a pinhole leak in the radiator. Should be good for about a $1500 hit.

    Control arm fail

I had my front upper & lower control arms replaced in January 2023 with 104K miles on the LR4. My independent mechanic insists on OEM parts all around.

    Control arm fail

I like Lucky 8 - I've given them plenty of money. But I don't like providing an aftermarket alternative to a stock part that is supposedly heavy duty but in fact is a liability.

That's unacceptable - Lucky 8 needs to pull this product. Glad I didn't buy them when it was time to my upper & lower arms.

I had the same problem with ratchet straps with those same small hooks. I've since bought new straps but I also picked up these Rhino straps that can wrap around the roof rack bar and then attach to the hook. https://www.rhinousainc.com/products/motorcycle-soft-loops?variant=31596033638465

    Lucky 8 SYA Kit Problem

Man...the price for an air compressor guard is insane. And the Prospeed from Lucky 8 is out of stock and will probably never be back in stock. The APT one is $450 Australian (about $292 US) and it looks like it's still available on their website. I wonder what shipping will be? Probably...

    Lucky 8 SYA Kit Problem

Well you guys were right.....my right front air strut started leaking shortly after I had only the left front replaced. Just like the left front, the right front was letting short bursts of air escape on rugged off road trails when the wheel really dropped down. Had the right front replaced...
