    Different oil level readings with hood open

    Having the hood open and pressing the cancel button just allows you to bypass the 15 minute timer from when the engine is shut off. If the oil is hot you’re going to get varying readings as more drains into the sump. I personally just measure mine while it’s cold in my garage.

    I’d start with a reputable Indy shop and go get a proper diagnosis, and see how bad the quote is. Any noise on startup? I worry more and more about my 2013 as well… I would probably repair it if you have the means to do so.

    If your LR4 is locked, and you unlock it but don’t open a door within 2 minutes it will relock. Pretty sure that’s in the manual somewhere.

    Yeah you really need a code reader like an IID tool to properly diagnose air suspension. Don’t randomly throw parts at it. Why was the compressor replaced and was it replaced with an OE part?

    LR3’s also had a rear locker option. HSE was the highest trim level offered here. Bi-xenon headlights, center console fridge, more speakers and so on. My buddy has a LR3 and got me into the Land Rover brand.

    Other consideration is a $1500 repair looks a lot better these days than dropping 50-100k on a used or new Defender. I wish JLR didn't make the Disco 5 look how it looks. I'm sure it's a very capable platform, but it just doesn't look as good as our Disco 4's.

    What happens if you just completely floor it from a stop? Does it drive/accelerate as expected? Definitely a weird issue. I agree with power shift. Check out the throttle position and commanded throttle if you have a gap tool, or even any diagnostic tool should be able to see that.

    Last photo is the stock tire/size. I would 100% go with the larger sidewall if you off road. You will probably get a better feeling ride with the larger sidewall too.

    I have about 40k on mine as well and they’re still looking pretty good. I’ll also say that they aren’t the greatest in standing water anymore. Could probably easily get another 20k out of them since it doesn’t snow where I live.
