How to check the battery voltage with the settings menu
I haven't heard of this on the LR3....and I know on the LR4 there is another small battery that operates the start/stop feature, so the electrical is a little different. -

I would be looking at the service history. Lots of work should have done at 150k, one of which is not stated in the maintenance manual. Spark plugs and injectors around 100k Tranny fluid at 100k (not stated) Diff oil 2 or 3x over by now Look at the front diff breather - that will inform you... -

Does the fault clear after you cycle power and then come back after a few miles of driving? -

I'd check the brake lights in the back, the tail lights and also the brake switch. -

Not very far....there is not much travel in the suspension when it's in Access Height. -

I don't think I'd drive it like that....not for that distance. Curious, is it the switch or what? Is it LOCKED in Access Height or can you drive it ~20mph and see if it raises automatically? If it does, pull the EAS fuses and it will stay at Normal Height. -

I have a friend who did that.....he had to swap his brake calipers out for the V6 ones. -

Is that photo of your Rover? If so, you might consider getting the larger updated diff breather cap. -

Active Suspension issues after replacing rear upper control arms
Why the upper rears? Haven't heard too many instances of those failing in 15 years of LR3 ownership. Do you have an IIDTool or some other code reader? Is the EAS throwing a code? Where/how is it telling you that you're locked out? May want to recalibrate. -

I've never heard of any diff "sudden death." I've heard the opposite....that it just gets louder and louder. In fact I have never heard of any total failure and/or what happens in that instance and I've been on these message boards for almost 15 years. -

Tough one....won't hurt anything to change the fluid now and wait to change out the diff, or just change it now and save the $ you would have spent on new fluid. Only benefit of changing the fluid and waiting is that perhaps new oil makes the diff quiet down and maybe you don't really need to... -

I'll add that I've been advised to wait 15 minutes BEFORE completing the following step: Connect the negative cable end to the positive cable end. (NOT to the battery.) -
