Broken coolant return nipple and fix

On my 2005 (130k miles now) I replaced the entire coolant hose system in 2014 before a trip to the Yukon Territory. I'm not sure if I got to every last connector, but my intent was to change "everything rubber" inclusive of connectors...so coolant and brake hoses. I specifically changed the...

Broken coolant return nipple and fix

Interesting...how many of these vulnerable plastic bits are there? Maybe they should all be replaced periodically...

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

Definitely cool....also keep in mind that not all sizes are the same diameter. For example, my Cooper Discoverer STT Pros are 275/65R18 and Cooper's website lists the OD at 32.6".

IID or other suspension tool to aid - Seattle area

The dealership should recalibrate it for you without charging you an arm and a leg, but you'd be better served just putting that $ into the GAP tool and going from there.

    2006 SE Air Suspension Question

The struts have labels on them that I believe have the date. The compressor is a little tougher but one coarse check would be to see if it's a Hitachi or an AMK.

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

Good point about the spare; could it fit if aired down?

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

I'd say for a full-time fit, 265/65R18. Goodyear sells Duratracs in that size. There are also BFG KO2s that size, Cooper ATs. The OD is 31.5".....which is a good sweet spot.

Rear suspension bottoms out on dips

Right...the fronts are much more common And recurring, and easy to recognize/diagnose. The OP is specifically talking about a more mysterious "clunk" from the rear.

Maybe I should check mine too!

Rear suspension bottoms out on dips

Hmmmm...I have an '06 that does this, or at least, what I think sounds like your description except only on harsher bumps like off-road. I had the rear swaybar bushings changed. That didn't help. It could be the swaybar itself. The tech took photos and it is pretty worn out in spots. I'd...

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

Like I said....different use cases. Your logic makes sense to me, for your situation.

Light grinding sound from rear right tire area when turning right.

Is that a Bend, Oregon reference in your login name?

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

I guess I go back to the performance hit. In my case, it's fairly distinct that September - May I'm not off-roading so swapping out makes sense. Different use case.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

    That's fair...I'm lucky that I can switch back 'n forth. If I couldn't, it'd stay big.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

Those look good! Not too skinny... If you think the negative effects on road are minimal you may just be forgetting! I swap back n forth between stock size and 275/65s...and it's always profound to me.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

Good point on the width...maybe I should consider that for my next tire size. How does that look? If you have any pics, I'd love to see.

Will I still be able to drive these tires with a suspension fault?

I have 32.6" tires and even in Access I wouldn't try a full lock turn. Bump stops are even lower.

...what if you have to turn!?!? :)

    Introduction and Question

I'm thinking the revving was actually the fan...is that possible, Adam? Check all your brake lights. Could be the brake switch, too.

Light grinding sound from rear right tire area when turning right.

The tread pattern looks pretty sweet. I'm not familiar with that brand of tire. That combination of width and diameter may cause some issues, even with the standard "lift" most of us run.

You don't have to do anything...not for a half inch greater OD.
