    Roof Rack Roof Top Tent

I haven't committed to a RTT yet, but I did get the full Baja rack last summer. I like it from an Engineering/Quality standpoint, and styling too. To fit a tent you have to also get some crossbars from Baja....I don't think they are particularly expensive though.

LR3 BMS Reset for Battery AGM Charging

LR3. I think both my LR3s have AGMs in fact. I am not certain on the 2nd one because the PO bought it but that's what I remember seeing.

LR3 BMS Reset for Battery AGM Charging

I've run an AGM for a decade. It's fine.

17" Wheels - How I got them on my LR3

Let's go get it dirty! Next month; Tahuya? Reiter? April...?

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

Wow, I didn't know that you knew me so well!!! Okay, so the load rating is a measure of load bearing ability but not toughness...this would make more sense if you mean specifically "puncture resistance" as you state. I can get with this...I ask you, not rhetorically but seriously, can you...

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

m_lars, you're misunderstanding my point so badly that you are building a strawman. Where did I ever say that Load Rating means everything? Nowhere What I am saying; however, is that without having data pertaining to a particular tire, you HAVE to go by something, and Load Rating is one...

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

Haha no you missed my point. Careful selection when you somehow magically have a priori knowledge of outlier tire models would be better, sure...but without that, one must rely on ratings.

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

I knew that.....that it was a "rating" and not literally 10 plies. I agree that one could carefully pick 5 lesser rated sidewalled tires and fund that they outperform 5 E-rated tires....only after they have test results in-hand, I'd say. Like I said above, there are gonna be outliers. I wasn't...

    Greeting from Vallejo CA

Get an IIDTool from GAP. check the wheel well on the front driver's side. There is a wiring loom that runs along the frame rail, you may have ruptured it. What fault indications are displayed in the vehicle? What does it say and which symbols?

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

Very informative, thank you. I haven't taken the plunge on a RTT, but I just helped a buddy mount one on his Tacoma. We camp together quite often so I'm gonna see it in action. Maybe that will compel me to get one.

That rig is SWEET and that picture in Greece is inspiring! What sort of sill protection do you have mounted there? How do you like that RTT? What rails did you mount it to?

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

Yeah....really hard to glean anything from those random posts. What I like about these forums is that there is a continuity in posters/members and after a while you learn the various personalities as well as who is trustworthy or not. Very hard to diagnose your issue without experiencing it...

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

The California Stop enhancement (I think it was called "B034" by Land Rover) was meant to correct a sudden lurch while doing a rolling stop, hence the name....rolling stops were made famous in CA. Anyway...if you came to a complete stop, then proceeded, you might never experience it. My...

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

Actually I just meant that it's not called "LR3" in Europe so it makes you sound full of hot air. You are only serving to confirm that feeling, with the above response. I asked you specific questions....why not answer them? Here is one suggestion: Take it into Command Shift; try manually...

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

Agreed....I mostly wanted to see if maybe the OP confused a surge in RPMs for a surge in acceleration. They are different, as I'm sure you know. I also think the OP might not be back.

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

I was trying to determine if only the RPMs surged (normal in downshifting) or if there was actual forward acceleration due to uncontrolled throttle. Either way, I'm fairly sure it's operator error or internet troll (LR3 in Europe???)....so I want more details. I guess I'm bored....slow Tuesday.

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

Okay....so walk me through this like I'm a 4 year old. You almost come to a halt....so are you braking? Are you idling? ....are you using Command Shift? What RPM does it rev up to? Does that cause it to lurch forward? I may have a theory or two, but need details such as the answers to the...

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

...and I'm sorry you had a bad experience with Goodyear, maybe they have changed??? idk... I only meant above that the determination of Load Rating (C, E, etc) is a quantifiable metric and defined process between manufacturers and regulators. I agree that conditions of use and subsequent...

    Sudden Acceleration While Parking

What are the particulars of your vehicle and the operational conditions that lead to this? I'm on record saying that all these claims are BS. People trolling after the situation with the Prius years ago.

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

It isn't a guarantee at all...never said as much. It's a quantifiable data point though. Saying that load range has no bearing on sidewall strength is nonsense. Like I said, some tires just don't do well on certain vehicles, I guess. I loved my MT/Rs and can't imagine a better off-roading tire...

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

I do....for off-roading applications at least, because I may be balancing the weight on two wheels. For road tires I don't care so much. So maybe your Indictment on Goodyear as a whole should be reconsidered, if the tire specs didn't match the vehicle application.

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

The MT/Rs have a different tread pattern now and have Kevlar in the sidewall...really sweet tires, but in the size I like to run they are Load Rating C, instead of E...which is why I now run Cooper Discoverer STT PROs.

What is the BEST wheel size/tire dimensions combination for All-Terrain use in the 2006 LR3?

It's funny how different experiences can shape our views. I ran Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs for 9 years on my LR3 through all kinds of conditions and LOVED those tires. I definitely tested the durability of those sidewalls, too....tough as nails. On the contrary, as most us know, the Goodyear...
