If you'd said that the LR4 is faster than the LR3 I would have simply agreed. You said one is slow and the other is not, which to me is just silly because neither are fast.
I will take the slower of the slow vehicles and the engine that doesn't lose its timing chain and get destroyed.
If we...
Power? That 75HP is meaningless on the trails....and on the roads, well, the LR3/4 is just not fast regardless. I'll take the -75HP to avoid the crappy timing chain guides and crossover pipe, any day.
I'm sure someone will set you straight on this forum. I think...and I'm not sure but from reading post after post about coolant over the years, you have to bleed the system and you likely have air in it. Also I hope you replaced that bleeder T with a copper one.
This job as a DIY is out of my league. I don't have the space or tools or patience to tackle this. $1000 is a pretty fair price if it was at a dealer. I wonder....if you bought the $300 strut from AB and took it into an indy, what they'd charge you for labor. Might be worth a quote....
I don't know if that is what it ended up being...I remember it costing around $550 and that's less than 5 hours labor.
You could always try the adhesive type or the kinds that cut into the coolant. I have big ass aftermarket skids under my vehicle and didn't want to mess around.
...only rear control arms I have heard of needing replaced on an LR3 at least, are ones that had polybushes installed. The thinking there was that the stiffer polys transferred more of the load into the control arm and caused it to fail.
The reason the fronts get replaced is because the rear...
That is true; I forgot about that variability from VIN to VIN. I am lucky in that I easily found a sweet spot where I don't get any rubbing with my tires yet I can go into Extended Height still and not get out-of-range faults.
I only use that when off-road; otherwise I'm in stock heights.
Same here. I have an Infiniyi Q50 and it has LEDs...2014. that's why I asked the year...figured LR would have gone Led by then. I line HIDs way better and I used to be a Lighting Engineer on airplanes. Each have their advantages.
...seems like the rods would help avoid tire rubbing on less severe obstacles, though...full stuff is full stuff, agreed....but being in extended height has to help with general tire clearance and of course ground clearance.
The counter-argument is to say you have just as much tire-clearance in...
I mean that sounds like a nice patina :)
...but some of that stuff is really cheap and easy to eradicate. I've had half a dozen dings removed and updated things like wheel arches and windshield cowlings cheaply. Now that I'm better equipped to maintain them I can make them last forever. I'm an...
@zelatore what I call a black diamond trail are ones that have a sign at the trail head with a black diamond on them.
I know you've done serious stuff...in all your rigs. My point...is that stock v stock the LR3 is ridiculously capable. That's really all.
