So get the spacers and rods, install and then test fit the one tire....then pull the trigger on the other three if you like the fitment....and after you get back from your business trip wrap it all up?
So realistically, end of April. Alright....
Okay...I like the video WAY more than I like the setup of the vehicle. I enjoyed the swearing and the Napolean Dynamite'esque exit.
That said, I do think 33s will fit because I have 32.6s on and I have clearance. ...but then again I have a 2005 LR3 and if I even have a frame horn it doesn't...
Success or failure, this is a GREAT thread. We are all watching with bated breath and stand to learn a lot from it.
Worth noting though: you need FOUR tires.
:) :) :)
Fording depth is better. Ground Clearance is about the same in off-road height....angles are about the same....that crawl ratio, they increased it? The LR3 has a 45.6:1 crawl ratio with the same 2.93 low range. Wheel travel?
All this talk about D5 capabilities, I'd like to see the following numbers:
Ground clearance
Angles (app, depp, b/o)
Wheel travel (front and rear)
Crawl ratio x torque@1000 RPMs
Yeah I wasn't sure....I know it looked too rocky to be Tahuya but the vegetation didn't look like the typical Ponderosa Pine and Sage of central/eastern WA either.
I have yet to go to Naches, but I've done parts of Manastash; similar terrain but I know Naches is a little more intense. I'm also...
Yeah, dj said his tech has a Defender for wheelin so probably went coil just to make it less expensive to maintain. I get that...I wouldn't do it, but I get it.
Jwest what trail is that? Just Tahuya?
How does your Rover tech know that they will need replacing soon?
This has been a question of mine for a long time....I have replaced both fronts but my rears seem good. Feels like new; I have 128,000 on the clock. How can a person tell when the rears need to be replaced???
Fronts are easy to...
Mine failed a long time ago and I had the actuator replaced under warranty. It hasn't happened again. Are the replacement parts better? Is the install done such that it precludes it happening again? Is there a TSB that changes the install?
Negative. Hers is a 328HP RWD Q50S. It does not have direct adaptive steering nor any of the other electronic driving nannies. It's a joy to drive, it's just not an F-Type.
The OP asked specifically about going to the LR4 engine, not just something "meatier" or else this whole comparative discussion would not have transpired. I'll agree straight away that the 4.4L is a bit undersized for the LR3. My only real point was that the 4.4 seems to be a more robust engine...
I think that's my point, too, jwest....it's all nonsense. They are both slow...and one being "fast for a heavy SUV" is a pointless qualification like "it's pretty fast for how slow it is."
All dumb. They are both solid 4x4s. Done and done.
