    LR4 on 33's

I guess I can't argue any of this. There is no right or wrong, I was simply explaining why I called it "inadvisable," and it's of course just my opinion. I haven't done any research.

    LR4 on 33's

I suppose I'm just a bit dubious about jumping up 5" in tire OD and having to cut and trim and re-jigger the suspension geometry. I feel like it's asking for trouble especially on a vehicle as nuanced as the LR4. ...and that's not to mention the extra unsprung weight. When my 275/65R18s are...

    LR4 on 33's

Just because it CAN be done doesn't mean it SHOULD be done. Fun to watch? Sure.... advisable? No. So it can be dumb and cool at the same time....and I think that's probably true. I didn't mean to imply that they re-geared, just that at that jump in size they SHOULD re-gear!

    LR4 on 33's

    Ok....but I don't see anything that I can't do with 32.6s....and I don't need to re-gear or swap engines. Sorry....I think this is dumb.

I've always had this question of "how big is too big?" I guess LK8 is going to help us find out!

Key Fob Destroyed - Car is not worth cost of key - Alternative way to start?

....did Unusual-Auto just morph into Rover Runner and age 23 years in the process???

    Radio, water and fun...

Wait wait wait....you drilled holes in your floorboard to allow the water to drain???

    Insane Body Roll

Not necessarily. My front passenger air bag was at its end of life and there was no fault. One thing you could try is jacking up the rig and seeing if the upper control arms (in front) make contact with the shocks. If so, the shocks are worn out.

Raising the Vehicle via GAP Tool

You're going about it incorrectly. You have to check your calibration values (maybe it was live values, I don't remember) and see how much buffer you have against the max value, then raise each corner that amount.

Key Fob Destroyed - Car is not worth cost of key - Alternative way to start?

Hey @Unusual-Auto there is a guy on another forum that is looking for a parts-vehicle. How serious are you? If you PM me your email, I can PM it to him on the other forum...unless you are also on www.landroverforums.com in which case you can find his recent post in the LR3 section and hit him up...

Key Fob Destroyed - Car is not worth cost of key - Alternative way to start?

So tempting to take it off your hands as a parts rig....but I live too far away and already have 2 LR3s. Maybe your vehicle can hear your disparaging comments and is lashing out!

For those that offroad their LR4...a few questions before I pull the trigger

Right....and I do carry some of the appropriate rubber tubing and some push-on connectors for such an occasion. I may have it covered but I should probably test it. I don't have the Schrader valve but I do have a fitting for my supplementary air compressor that will fit into the tubing.

Wow! Got pics of this beast? ....I'm going to google that GOE inflate kit. Sounds intriguing.

    Should I take the plunge?

I bought black for precisely the same reason but opposite rationale. I love the more "integrated" look of all things being the same color (windows, wheel arches, bumper shrouds, door handles, etc). As for the windows, the specular reflectance of the glass takes care of it looking like a van, imo.

    Should I take the plunge?

@Michael Puig I guess no one can argue that...if there is no traction then there is no traction. The HD package makes the LR4 a lot more capable though. That's just a fact. @awesam I think you'll be happy. It is a beautiful ride. You can still take it out to the woods 'n shit, you're just...

You put enough BBQ Sauce on it and it won't matter how it's cooked.

    Should I take the plunge?

@Michael Puig perhaps you don't know what all is included in the "HD Package." I'm not sure myself, as I'm an LR3 owner. I believe, though, that the LR4's HD package on the later models includes not only the 2-speed transfer case but also the center differential which allows for a full locking...

@Michael Puig ....I disagree with everything you said except the "tires and pressure" bit.

Have the Transmission, HDC, Brake Light, Suspension Lowering Problem!

It could be a wheel angle sensor, it could be a wheel speed sensor, could be a wiring issue due to your water ingress problem. It could be a lot of things. Get an IIDTool from GAP Diagnostics. It can help you determine the root cause. The fix is likely not that sinister.

    Should I take the plunge?

I sort of got sucked into this thread late.... ....I'm expecting the new Defender to be a unibody, EAS, scrunched-LR3/4 looking Rover with pretty good capability. Some will say not having the frame is a negative, and I'd agree...but that doesn't mean it won't be capable. Some won't like EAS but...
