The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Wow! Really.....their tread pattern looks just like the Fierce Attitude tires (a Goodyear venture). Okay after looking closer, not really....the side lugs a little bit.

Fierce Attitude!! I was looking at those; please check in and tell us how they perform over time.

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

Good info....I've heard about the shorter oil change intervals helping with the timing chain guide issue, but first I've heard that they are metal.

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

Did they switch to metallic guides?

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

Good info, thanks. I have a friend who had this done on his wife's RRS. It was $12k, in Portland. I figured since the engines were the same the cost would be too.

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

It has its nice features for sure. Personally, I like HID lights better than LEDs. I have vehicles with both, and I just prefer the Arc Lamp technology. I would like more horsepower...for sure. As I've said, both are good...I think you can make a punch list either way of things that are better...

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

When you have to drop $12,000 to get new timing chain guides for your LR4, we'll see how much of an upgrade it feels like. Or when you smack those nice painted wheel arches into a tree and they crumble like a taco shell. I like the interior door panels on the LR4 a lot, though.

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

I say that because the molded plastic materials on the LR3 can take more of a beating (and still look good) as compared to the painted plastic stuff on the LR4. Some of the interior stuff, too...is more conducive to taking abuse. That's all I meant. Both are great vehicles.

    Worth upgrade LR3 to LR4?

I am not sure it's an "upgrade." I suppose it depends on your priorities. The LR3 is more rugged and the engine is bullet-proof. Since you're asking...I'd say keep the LR3 and use the $23k to keep it in tip top shape...maybe add some fun accessories to freshen it up.

New to me 06 Air Suspension Problems

Sounds like a suspension leak. Also check the brake switch. Could be electrical as well (likely as a result of water ingress) since that switch isn't working.

Upper Control Arm Striking air shock Phenomenon

Well it happened to me....and another guy in So Cal. I'm onboard with the "Multiple Failures" theory in which the ARB bushings were also toast.

    Transmission Fault

I'd contact GAP. I think the "U" messages are not a big deal, but I'm not sure.

    water inside pass. floorboard

....I think you just answered your own question. New cowling; while doing that create a baffle for the pollen filter box. Check under your A-Pillar trim, too.

What to upgrade/ replace on a 96k mi 2007 LR3 V8 to be solid daily driver

I'd just stay on top of fluid changes on that diff, then. BG is a series of engine treatments. What I know of them is that they come in sort of a "3-pack." One can goes into your fuel tank. Another is used as part of an air-induction service...and the 3rd goes into the fuel rail. I have done all...

What to upgrade/ replace on a 96k mi 2007 LR3 V8 to be solid daily driver

spark plugs, tranny fluid, alternator, front air shocks....all candidates for updating or will need replaced soon....hmmm, I'll have to keep thinking. Have you removed the plastic bleeder T in the coolant system? PCV Valve? Front diff breather? How are those diff and T-case fluids? While you...

    Where does it go connected?

    Alrighty then, I stand corrected!

    Where does it go connected?

I do think that the wheel speed sensors have to be calibrated. Do you have an IIDTool? If so, you can do the calibration with that.

Gos into low gear by itself when starting to drive.

@Shwacky1000 this is an LR3 message board. You may get quicker help if you post in the RR section.

    Where does it go connected?

Okay do that, and make sure you get good quality bulbs and install them such that the filaments are vertical....and see how it goes. Wouldn't hurt to do a hard reset, either. If that doesn't work, I'd replace your Brake Switch next. Easy/cheap stuff first!

    Where does it go connected?

What does the dashboard information screen say when you try to raise it? What happens if you try to use a special program on Terrain Response?

    Where does it go connected?

Need way more info....that isn't a suspension fault (pictured). What specific things are happening...does the compressor come on? Do you have any fault codes that you can read? How is your battery voltage?

    Transmission Fault and more

....doesn't seem like a good reason to get rid of it, but it's your life. If I were in FL, I'd come take a hard look at it. Good luck.

Upper Control Arm Striking air shock Phenomenon

Most of us have read about the condition in which a worn out shock no longer limits wheel travel and the UCA strikes it and can puncture the metal and airbag.... ...anyone ever hear of this happening with stock sized tires? My 2006 has way worn out shocks. We were on a beat up forest service...

    2005 LR3 SE

That is a reasonable price. While you're changing it, you should shield the pollen filter box with something to deflect the water. An old license plate would work, I used a plastic license plate blank and just epoxied it on.
