    Suspension Fault Issues

I think the system constantly makes small adjustments, though it's probably worth making sure it has full range of motion. I use access mode if there's something heavy I need to get in and out - my shoulders appreciate not having to lift things more than needed. When I'm on gravel roads I tend...

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

There's a button in the middle part of the dash to turn off the park sensors. I have a traditional bike rack with the two arms that support the bikes by their top tube. I would not get that kind again, our bikes have too much variety in frame geometries to fit nicely. I dream of getting a...

    Current Tire Recommendations?

A 4-season tire won't compare favorably to dedicated studless ice tires. I've had both (on different cars) and I found the studless ice tires mind blowing in slippery winter conditions. They don't do that well in warmer weather though. So the 4-season is a jack of all trades, master of none...

    Current Tire Recommendations?

Do the CrossClimate do worse than the Latitude in the snow? The CrossClimate are 4-season tires I believe (i.e. they have the three-mountain-snow-flake symbol, and are considered snow tires), so folks might be comparing them to dedicated snow tires which will always do better. I have no...

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

I guess that goes back to the "leave no trace" bit. Creating bypass trails and cutting trees is not part of running any trail, IMO. Anyway, I see where you're coming from and I think we're likely largely on the same page.

Has anyone run the Rubicon Trail in an LR3 or LR4?

If you show up with a vehicle that can traverse it with ease, have you really run it? My take is if you made it through, you made it through. You might have had to put more effort in and taken longer than others, but cleared the obstacles. You could argue that people who put up rock stacks...

    Compressor running

I think reverting the relay change sounds like a good plan, reduce the number of variables you're trying to solve for.

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

You can find the drier assembly complete, or you can find rebuild kits. I rebuilt mine, but the push-to-connect fittings do not seal well anymore, even after a new hose. Getting a new cap for the drier is on my todo list, but it's a very slow leak and the main gallery is mostly depressurized...

    Adding Upgrades to My 2012 LR4 -

I've been slowly building up our LR4, but mostly my courage. My concern with lift rods and larger tires is that a suspension mishap on the trail could leave you stranded. I would recommend an SYA kit so that you can still drive on bumpstops if you lose air pressure. I stuck to the 255/60/19...

Best roof rails and roof rack?

Looking at pictures of the roof on the prospeed site seems to show the platform does not extend as far back as the previous version, too.

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

Once you go over a certain speed, the system will restore normal ride height automatically. Usually it will display a warning in the multi-function display on the instrument cluster telling you to slow down or it will return to normal height.

Best roof rails and roof rack?

The aero front (which I'd want) does not work with the long rails. I really liked the look of the old prospeed rack, the way it integrated with the roofline was very slick.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

2nd row doesn't look like it folds flat, so remove it and build a platform and it might work really nicely. Long rear overhang though (looks longer than the LR4, but maybe not?)

Best roof rails and roof rack?

I was hoping to see their aero front. I have long rails though.

    2012 US Spec 5.0 Won’t Start

I had done a search online and used the parts.landroverparamus.com site to cross reference this part number LR080537, but they don't list the LR4 as a valid fitment. Thanks for confirming it worked for you!

    Suspension Fault Issues

The tool on amazon isn't the IID tool, but an alternative. The IID tool only works on Land Rovers, but it gives you a wealth of information. You can then decide which are worth chasing and which aren't. For example, it told me my passenger side puddle light was out - easy fix, it had been...

Finding the "Sweet Spot" (Statistical Failure Rates)

The EV/LR4 combo is great, you keep the LR4 for adventures (whether on-road or off, no matter the season), and the EV for around town, charging at home during the night - depending on how far your commute is. We've managed with a level 1 charger for the 3 years we've had our e-Golf, and it's...

    Suspension Fault Issues

@BigBriDogGuy, if you're serious about the LR4, I'd suggest investing in an IID Tool, so you can find out what it is that's triggering the suspension fault (or any other fault for that matter.)

    2012 US Spec 5.0 Won’t Start

Brake switch has 4 terminals - pin 4 gets constant 12v via a purple/yellow wire, pin 3 is ground via a black wire. Pin 1 is normally open, connects to pin 4 when you press the brake pedal, goes to the ECM and should read 12v when you press the pedal, green/purple. Pin 2 comes from the ECM, is...

Finding the "Sweet Spot" (Statistical Failure Rates)

Throw in that a lot of "expensive" maintenance is due in the "budget owner" period (and likely skipped), and you have a recipe for lots of expensive failures.

    2010 LR4 Off-road wheel and tire options

Is it because there's no compliance in the poly bushing, so what would normally be ramps in force turn into impacts/step functions? Are there any stress fractures on the other side? Scary! Another reason to regret installing the poly to add to my list.
