It’s a right of passage to hear this noise isn’t it?
it happens on cold starts. Goes away after it heats up. And I also have a clicking/wheezing sound under load when accelerating.
Well on just hearing it my Indy thinks it’s noisy lifters at start And an exhaust leak. It goes in on in two...
Yeah I would do the two pulleys and tune again for sure. The snout pulley is not necessary but I replaced the snout anyway with a refurb one so it was no deal to get Ed (eBay) to send one with the smaller pulley there. I would say the only thing I would modify would be to knock down the TPS...
Yikes.
They bought their 16 new so that makes sense. But their premiums on that extended warranty thing were quite cheap. And they've now begun using it. Interesting product
My buddy got geico coverage for his wife’s lr4. https://www.geico.com/auto-insurance/mechanical-breakdown-insurance/
He has been happy with that. Cheap and geico is a better company than some of those fly by night 3rd party insurers.
I got no insurance. I bought my 14 new. But I did everything...
Ok folks. Got the job done at my local Indy. same problem as others here. The parts are very cheap online. Like $60 for non oem. But I had a rental and couldn’t get them fast enough so I had to go the stealer. $250 out the door with tax. Ouch. Easy repair though. $200 in labor. Parts guy said...
On this car particularly I feel like they designed thermal breakdown to pair precisely with the various warranties. Maybe that’s attributing too much capability to the engineers.
Interesting. That was a longer warranty but I think I am out of all of them at 85k miles. https://ww2.arb.ca.gov/resources/fact-sheets/california-vehicle-and-emissions-warranty-periods
Just noticed this smell near the back passenger side. In garage and out in a parking lot. Great. Have to take care of that pronto. I’ll be preordering the flange and o ring for my visit to my Indy.
Yeah I was told by LR Pasadena and Safelite Pasadena that these dealers do not do glass. So whether you get it done at LR or safelite it’s always the same people doing it. I got a fuyao replacement heated. No issues. He used new clips. Did it mobile. Fuyao is the replacement glass for pretty...
I would say preventative pro action would be do a new water pump every 50k and new crossovers at 75k. not that it’s a huge deal when the water pump starts to leak because it is not catastrophic.
Yeah except the issue is that the spring will snap at some point. Then depending on the size of the break there is some small chance that some metal or plastic gets broken off and sent into the supercharger or airstream into the intake. Shavings, fragment, whatever. The rattling and play is kind...
it is a $12 coupler and an easy repair. Don’t go to the dealer. The oem coupler has torsion springs in it that crack over time. The replacement it solid. Buy the coupler and some supercharger oil. Have an Indy replace both. Done.
Yeah off-road ability and tow rating are inversely proportionate. Just look at the huge power wagon and it’s tiny tow rating compared to the other hd trucks. The lr4 and defender have big tow ratings for the size of them.
But also the first edition is like 59k$. And the first edition defender was like $84k. That’s a big jump for basically the same function.
Plus fords quality on truck stuff is really good these days. And the parts will be cheap to replace.
Bronco is SUPER wide too. 86.6. That’s a raptor. If they had put the 3.5 ecoboost in there it would basically be a raptor SUV. Which might be coming...
