    Brake Pads

Around 25% better with the drilled rotors imho. Way less fade on long downhills.

I think I’m in on that one. Only issue for me is I usually get my tires rotated at oil changes. Which would push that out

    Brake Pads

Still loving the EBC Yellow pads and drilled rotors. I drive nearly every weekend to the high sierra and back in the winter and they have been tremendous in the long downhills. Smooth and more powerful than stock. No fade.

anybody have any real world numbers on a lease they are on? I can't imagine a lease payment of less than 1100 a month with 0$ down on a loaded HSE lux at $65k+. I put like $22k down on a buy at 60 months, and still have $800ish a month payments. Up in a few short months though. I bet those...

Yeah, my thought has always been that leasing is convenient (luxurious) and borderline expensive, and buying generally costs less. This is assuming that you keep the car for 5-6 years. if you are selling cars you bought new after 4 or less years it might be a wash. Generally speaking, rule of...

Maybe I just don’t know anything about leases because I always buy but aren’t there significant up front costs (like $3500 +) at lease signing? Plus 5k miles overage per year at .30 a mile = $4500 on a three year lease. Plus a “disposition fee” at lease end tbd by LR. Plus “excess use and...

    LR4+Expedition Rack+... skis?

Yeah that. I have a full expo rack but only run it when camping and need the space. Which is not often. For skiing I try to put the stuff in the car when only two or three people go. When full I use a Thule aero blade and a Thule sonic xl. The less stuff on the roof the better especially when...

Amsoil and a new filter every 10k miles.

    What did they do!!!

After reading this thread and having a mild hard shift between 1 and 2 when rolling (as mentioned in a previous thread, the LR Tech at the dealer said this was 'normal" and not to worry about it), I called Arminco Transmission shop near me - as my normal mechanic won't touch transmissions. I...

    Another Defender hint?

My dream defender would be to take an LR4, shave 500lbs out of it like the new D5, put factory 33" tires (with wells to accommodate 35") with the suspension to match, and slam the diesel in there, with an option for a SCV8 (550hp). Done. how hard is that? I bet that diesel would still get...

Has anyone reflashed their 3.0SC V6 aka Tune?

update on the tune. I've gotten used to it now. It does feel like a different truck. Lots of life in the gas pedal. The big areas i see every day are the ease of passing people at 70-80mph roll on, on ramps, etc. I don't race cars at stop lights (it would still lose) and i try and drive...

Is the LR4 good for daily highway travel?

More info please. Long ranger from Australia for the diesel converted to gas?

Is the LR4 good for daily highway travel?

yeah, if i never went off road i wouldn't be driving the lr4. A Mercedes GL or something would suit my needs for long haul ski trips and comfy family transport. but i do go offroad. and i do tow. which puts the lr4 as one of the smallest biggest most capable vehicles i can find. but i do...

LR4 Transmission oil change... mixed feelings.

Fwiw I complained about the tranny hard shifting between 1 and 2 on a rolling start at the end of my warranty. LR Encino sent a tech out with me to do a ride and see what I was talking about as they couldn’t replicate it. I got it to clunk a couple times rolling start down a slight decline...

    what say you?

Looks an awful lot like an lr4. Except for the side swinging rear door. Looks better than the disco 5 regardless
