Good on you guys for the low miles. I felt like mine lives an easy life most of the time, but we take off on long trips and when on a trip I use it how they are meant to be used. Thus the modifications and camping specific stuff.
When it isn't on a trip it gets pampered. Been doing a lot of...
2013 all the way. Two cylinders fell off that 2014+. ;)
How the hell do you only have 40k miles on it?!?! I have 70k on my 2013 and I don't even daily it. (its all miles from cross country driving)
And it looks like me to be the most lazy possible design. Absolutely pancake flat. No drainage, no ribbing, one little bend at one end. I'd be curious if it flexes when you actually put the weight of the lr4 on it... doesn't look that tough to me.
On my compomotives I had them use bands for the tpms sensors. Too much risk of a leak trying to use them normally. The way the rim is shaped just isn't compatible with them really.
I went with KO2's.. still to new to give an opinion.. but I don't think any A/T tire is good in snow/ice... I...
It is unlikely that you will rub it, but its close. I moved mine a bit and zip tied it out of the way just in case. When I clog up the tires with mud and rocks it does seem to touch that side at full steering lock.
that is a pwm signal line.. it controls the alternator output. I think if you cut that it just won't output anything and you will get a charging system fault.
I used my dremel tool with a regular little metal cutting disc. Not the fastest or best way. Next time I have the skid off I am going to use a grinder and clean it up. I just cut part way through and then bent it back and forth until it snapped off. you can see its a little jagged in my...
Yes, tin can... you will dent your fuel tank and end up with less capacity.. which is bad enough as it is.
Mine is mounted already.. i will get better pictures tonight. The gas skid easily drops down more than enough. I just loosened the one other bolt near the back (the smaller bolt) and it...
Oh, wow.. ya, i didn't want to do that. The asfir is galvanized too, I didn't want to cut on that at all. Just a small cut to the back of the gas skid is all that is needed with a 10mm x 50mm course thread (1.5) bolt (which is 1/4" longer than the regular skid bolt). It makes them meet up...
Looks like you could source that tool if you had to. Damn those 'special tools'

Thanks for doing that research and trial and error for us. Another possible path here could be to fake a PWM signal to the alternator or even put a simple controller on it so you could manage it yourself. I am not sure that the BMS wouldn't throw a code though if the output of the alternator...
I looked around in the factory service manual and didn't see anything. Saw something on tirerack....
Audi As published in their vehicle owner's manual, "rolling radius of all 4 tires must remain the same" or within 4/32-inch of each other in remaining tread depth.
Porsche Cayenne within 30% of...
Gives it strength along the long axis and makes it drain better. Same with the other side sliders, he put in drain holes in the compressor bump. I also had all of my stuff spray metalized (like galvanizing) So that even if the powder coat is scraped off they won't rust that easily.
I need to...
The T44 transfer case skid does cover the transmission, it just protrudes back past the cross member and also protects the transfer case.
It goes from the factory skid all the way back past the transfer case.
I can get better photos if you need, just let me know.
And for the front bar. The Tactical 4x4 is going to have better approach angles, its tighter to the grill... however I think the ARB is designed to a much higher standard and I think it looks better. For actually protecting against an animal strike I also vote ARB. My rear bumper is the T44...
I just want to go on record and say.. read what avslash said again and remember that 'rods' of any kind (especially the lying johnson rods guy) will NOT fix fitment issues. They change the at-rest position of the air struts but don't change the maximum down or up travel of the strut...
