Ya, agreed. This gasket looks 10x better. I really had to use quite a bit of sealant this last time and I know it is going to suck to redo it again. But brake cleaner works well. Just such a messy job. Wish I had seen this a few months ago. :D
Did you do the protective vinyl? How is it thickness wise?
I have a panel on my rack that pivots, but I may eventually add this just to add watts and I wanted a hood blackout anyway. Slick!
@NASdiesel has a comment in there that he was disappointed with the Bilsteins. B4 or the B6 upgrade monotube?
My default will be just OE assemblies because, while soft, they have served me well off road. But anything I can get that is slightly upgraded without overly harshing the ride is...
Thank you for the links. I have redone my pan and gasket twice and it leaked after the first time. I used lots of sealant this time... I wish I had seen this other gasket.
I may end up redoing it again just to get this other gasket in there. My trans still shifts really great so I don't...
Wow, congrats on the new ride. Excited to see what you think of it. I still remember our posts from way back when we first bought LR4's. I remember the accidental Range Rover badge that you had.
Good times. Thanks for all the great convos over the years.
Just curious, what kind of work are you considering having done? Every time I think I can't do something myself, I figure it out and get it done. Haven't had mine to a dealer or anyone in like 5 years. I think the last time was at the dealer body shop after a dear strike, had to get panels...
I would love to know why he thinks its confusing electronics. The batteries work exactly the same, its purely a size difference. You could put a golf cart battery in there and it would work just the same.
Also, a few other things to check. First, make sure they installed the ARB bumper correctly. You do want spacing between the bumper and the body/headlights, but it looks like it might be adjusted too low. Lots of times people don't drill the "pin bolts" when they install ARB bumpers. The...
So the ARB Bar you have is the older style deluxe bar. Great piece of kit.
FYI, ARB also sells a new design Summit bar. They say that it only works on the 2014+ models, but that is false. It works on 2010-2013 just as easily. I have the summit bar on my 2013. It has some improvements...
I used clay mud with lots of rocks mixed in and drove through it, got stuck and then spin my wheels a little in it to get out.
Cleans the brake dust off but also takes off some other stuff.
Agreed. Good to be aware of possible issues and fixes, but don't go tearing stuff apart needlessly. You are likely to cause more issues than you prevent.
It is. I think they came out with the one you have soon after I bought mine. The older one required a separate module. Seems to work great. It gets good range.
Having the panel separate means you can get optimal angle and power. I just don't like messing with it at camp, so I normally try...
Snorkel would be great for dust, but I have no interest in fording water higher than my hood and the stock intakes do just fine with that (with a bow wave). The computers you would impact are the main risk anyway. We can't really add snorkels here with the 5.0 L V8 since both sides are intakes...
I couldn't deal with having my rear hitch on or anything in it while on a trail. That thing would get hung up so badly on stuff. The stock rear bumper gets torn off pretty easy anyway if you do anything tough off road.
I also don't see how that could hold up on rough roads. It needs more...
2013 LR4 5.0 V8
Bought it new. ~76k miles on it now.
I try to do 6-7k mile oil changes, but lately its just spring/fall changes since I put fewer miles on it lately.
5w-20 Mobil 1 EP
I hear the injectors a little, but just like new. Chain seems fine, I've poked it left hand side chain through...
Do you know anyone who has gotten the HD half shafts? Those are on my list too, but I don't need them yet. A bit expensive but the logical choice long term.

Situation: A 'squeak' noise may be evident from the steering column area when turning the steering wheel. Cause: This may be caused by a lack of lubrication of the steering gear pinion seal.
