Do you have photos? I honestly don't have much to add, but just looking to learn as much as we can from your unfortunate situation. Let us know what you have to do to fix it.
the half shaft is completely intact? just pulled out? I didn't know that was even possible.
I might be wrong, but I don't think the bump stop kit will help with whatever happened here.
Ya, $138, the exchange rate was a little better then, but I am willing to spend a little more for the simplicity of a complete kit that I know is good quality stuff. I am sure the other options could be fine also.. but I don't know.
Still really happy with the kit. They stay cool, and its...
I keep getting the key not detected message and it also doesn't want to lock for me half the time. I push the button and "BEEP BEEP!" ... then I step literally 6" closer, or lean into the side a bit more.. and it works.
I've changed the battery in the fob.. i dont get it. I have wondered if...
I was having a squeak and a little tick/pop sound every revolution when turning almost full lock at slow speed yesterday. I can't reproduce it today. It's not rubbing anything that I can tell. (the wire harness on driver front is moved)... shrug
I ordered a set of front timken bearings just...
I just saw something the other day, someone mentioned Meyle HD control arms. They have some kind of upgraded ball joint. Wonder if they work on LR4 (I think the website says LR3).
Great to hear those sliders worked out. I just got the Tactical sliders on mine, it took awhile. I miss the Voyager steps a little, they are nicer to get in and out of the vehicle with. The T44 steps don't stick out as much. They should protect more, but day to day I think the Voyagers are...
Nice work on the project. Love to see the research and hustle to make stuff like this happen.
It is all aluminum? What do you think it weighs in total?
I forget what brand my strap is. It works just fine, but I have always thought it might be nice to use a bubba because its less jerky and has more give to it. I frequently use mine to recover 'civilians' (other non built 4x4 types) and the impact from the strap could damage something or bend a...
This is a pretty old thread. I'd be interested in hearing from the original posters about what the typical trail damage is on LR4 and what the top recommended spare parts are to carry.
@Finlayforprez and others have a lot of experience. My experiences are limited to mostly muddy fields and...
I bought these. High quality. I wanted black for the compos.

I could, but the texture of this coating alone is like 300 grit sand paper and the lower trim parts are black, so it wouldn't work. ;)
I'll get them satin black to match the rack and ladder and hopefully at some point the T44 rear bumper and ARB summit bar out front.
I have mine sitting on my garage floor. I need to get them powder coated still.
I called the zincnation folks. They said that these are aluminum coated. (they also offer zinc coating, which does not take powder coat well).
They are rubberized on purpose though. They probably just gum up over time with gunk. I'd use a very mild soap or something to gently clean the crap off.
I'd just wait until the arches have too much character and then have them repainted. Good chance if you get trail damage it could crack or bust one anyway, so save the budget for replacement.
Do you have an IID tool? I'd be curious what your computer is currently using as a charge profile. (I ended up doing a little research into this as I think I had a bad alternator, but am not exactly sure because the computer does... things)
