I don't think I have posted here for a long time. Time for an update. Since I last probably posted, everything is different except my roof rack and ladder.
The new ARB Summit bar! (on my 2013 HSE Lux HD)
I normally don't keep the T44 swing arms on so I can use my parking sensors and...
I just got my 9.5" ARB Intensity Lights on my new ARB Summit bar. I love these driving lights. I got one spot 10 degree beam, and one flood 20 degree beam. The flood is still pretty tight beam pattern. They don't spill light to the sides a whole lot which is surprising for LED. I don't...
My boat trailer doesn't even cause the trailer light to come on. LED lights don't pull enough current to trigger it. Still tows the 7k lb+ trailer just fine.
I just got my Warn Zeon Platinum 10-S, and it is the same way.. direct (huge) wire to the battery. I can't put the negative directly on the post, but I can put it on the end of the short main ground wire.
Worst case, internal short in the winch and you blow up a battery? sounds scary, but it...
I can't fit that project in at the moment, but I do think it would be a good idea for these engines.
I am at like 56k miles now and I no longer daily drive it, so hopefully it will slow down. Hopefully I can make it a few years before I need to tear it apart and clean those valves.
I am in Iowa. That is part of why I was so excited about that zincnation aluminum spray metalizing thing that Tactical 4x4 does to their stuff now. I had my rear bumper and sliders and skids all done in that to try to avoid rust issues.
The ARB front bumper comes powder coated, so I guess we...
Even I never get stuck, I have a feeling a deer or two will get bounced off of it. I've already nailed a full sized buck with my LR4 once, and our other vehicles have taken hits also. Iowa is just overrun with dumb deer running everywhere. :D
You do have to cut the fenders and some plastic behind the bumper area. But those can be replaced. Honestly I don't see ever going back to stock bumper after putting this on, but ill keep the parts.
I got an update call today.. all the parts are 'inbound' still. Been 1 month so far. The...
Mobil 1 full synth 5W-20 does fit the specifications. I really don't think these engines are that super sensitive, but I could be wrong. Time will tell. I use Mobil 1.
Yes, it will fit the Summit Bar. The control pack does get taken off and you use the warn short relocation kit. But i think it is mounted just near the top.
i don't know if I needed to use the relocate or not. It was a pain in the ass to relocate and its loud. I did quite it down a lot by using some foam around the plastic from the top part of the compressor cover. Seems like it has lots of room between the bracket and the sliders. Next time I...
I paid a little over $100 for a brand new oem key from ebay, from a UK based outfit, Used my IID Tool to program it. Super simple. I'd recommend that route. No reason to spend twice as much at a dealer and then have them program it. Takes 30 seconds to add a key with an IID tool.
Is it possible to install an oil catch filter or whatever it is called to prevent oil coming back into the intake? and still have the right PCV function, in terms of the sensors and pressures?
Might be good to keep the valves cleaner?
I mostly agree with this ^.. but my Infiniti G35x (rear bias AWD) with snow tires seems more capable in most winter conditions.. other than where ground clearance would matter. Due to weight and also the balance of the G35 sedan and its awd system is fantastic (can split 50/50 and has LSD...
i didnt know voyager had a compressor guard... hrmm
the t44 sliders are impressive but the steps on the voyagers are more comfortable and stick out more.
the t44 will be better protection but most wont need that much. t44 protects the air tank also.
im just hoping that the zincnation coating...
If you go with a hidden winch setup, I would think the Zeon Platinum would be a good choice. It has no clutch handle, so you dont need to 'reach' it. Everything is by remote.
I got mine in yesterday.
Snow mode does some neat things with throttle response and the diffs do lock up more easily in those conditions, especially when you take off from a stop. What makes the most difference though is just tires. And I find I just need snow tires to have this thing be reasonably safe in bad...
