Looks great. They have changed the rack and ladder since I ordered mine, but its mostly the same. I love mine.
What is that cross bar thing you have? That looks like an add on bar?
Yep, could just be the controller on the alternator, not pumping out enough amps as expected, etc. It's pretty simple to swap out yourself if you are ok to DIY things.
by y-pipe, do you mean the coolant crossover pipe?
I was thinking about just ordering one to have handy, but I will likely not mess with anything unless I detect a leak. No sense in that IMO.
I have the Summit bar on my 2013 now, they say its made for 2014+ models which would work for you guys.
I still think it is the best option unless you are looking for a pure rock crawling bumper. The t44 and lucky8 bumpers probably are tighter into the front, but have less room, less...
once you turn on the movie, just switch the audio back to radio, the movie keeps going and the kids still get the audio via the headphones. The audio select doesn't change for the headphones.
Took us like a year of ownership to realize thats how it worked. (2013 system for reference, i think...
I think one key thing here, with any coolant related failure, is you just have to be vigilant of leaks, smell, etc and don't run the engine if you discover an issue.
LED trailers work just fine, but they won't pull enough current to trip your trailer icon on your dash... but they work just fine.
I'd suspect the trailer (wiring or lights)... do you know that the trailer wiring on your LR4 is correct? have you used it before?
That is a really nice build. Hopefully you don't really need to sell it. Modding and flipping overland builds is not going to be profitable, especially on this platform where everything is premium expensive.
The traxide kits offer that aux plug in the back. It re-wires the existing one to be on the aux battery, and adds another on the other side. The install really isn't that bad. Just take your time and its doable. All the wiring comes pre cut and made up, so you don't spend much time on...
That should be plenty of time. It shuts down all the computers, but its not going to wipe a firmware or start over to factory. Data that is written to hard disks or flash storage doesn't go away. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish... The software and hardware you have is what you...
2013 got a big upgrade in terms of software speed. It was a hardware update though that made the big difference. No software update will make a 2012 as fast as a 2013. Sorry.
This always happens, one source gets it and then 10k crap sites all get it and re sell it for whatever price. Someone should just put it up on google drive or dropbox or something.
I need "9638-land_rover_discovery_4_l319_lr4_2012_2013_2014_workshop_manual.zip"
Or that last one... i need a...
I have a 2013 LR4. I was curious if my LR4 would have this issue... so I compared the vin ranges.

I've done all my own work on my LR4. Lots of details, but I just worked on it a few hours each day for about 5 days. Wanted to take my time and get everything done properly. I even drilled the pinning bolts which was a massive pain and required a special low profile right angle drill. I get...
I just bought a Kuat base (black) and the add-on. In 2-bike mode its pretty small, but can easily add the other part for 4 bikes. I know people with the 1up also and they are nice, but seem a bit more fidgety to put a bike onto. They are very secure though. I like that the kuat makes the...
I think the intake cleaning is a good idea. I had to have mine done at like 30k because of rough idle. I get 10-14mpg in town (iowa, so not much stop and go), but I can get upwards of 17-19 on a multi-hour long interstate trip if the wind isn't bad. And thats with full skids, bumpers, rack...
I'm not going to claim to be a tire expert, so I can't say much here. It depends on the tire, the weight, the terrain and how likely you would loose a bead.
If you need the traction, you want less, but if you want to protect the sidewalls from rocks, being low might make that a larger risk...
A tire patch kit with new valve stems is wise too. Seems like sidewalls get taken out a lot, which a patch won't help much with, at least as a longer term fix. But if you shear off a valve stem or get a gash, having a kit is nice. Also good to practice getting a bead back on a rim. It's a...
