    LR4 Tailgate not opening

Not to knock on LRP's version, they're nice, but it looks just like these recliner cables for $10. I'm sure the LRP version is a complete setup with mounts, brackets, etc... But for those that don't want to opt for the $100 version or didn't have the option at the time it's fairly easy to do and...

    Think these will fit?

Looks nice! Pick up some used BMW center caps and remove the metal logo plate. It'll complete the look.

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

I highly recommend to everyone to do this mod when addressing tailgate issues. This will give you a manual release option for the price of a recliner chair pull cable. https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/lr3-lr4-required-upgrade-prevent-rear-door-failure-for-25.159873/

    Tyre Trek Swing Away

I had the Yakima Swingback and the arm hits the tailgate. Tire carriers with the raised arm like these images will hit the tailgate. If you want, I can take some measurements between the hitch and tailgate when I get home. Just looking at the picture, I'm guessing there's about 4" between...

    Bleeding brakes and brake reservoir

It looks pretty dark. New Pentosin CHF 202 or CHF 11 fluid is almost clear.

Try using PB Blaster penetrating spray on it.

    Rear crossover pipe screw stripped..

The last pic doesn't look like it's stripped. Are you sure you're using a T30 (torx bit)? I love using my tiny bit ratchet in tight areas, just fit the T30 bit on it. https://a.co/d/fhsleOR

    Think these will fit?

Interesting, on mine, both sides have a 3mm gap. You can definitely grind the corners a bit for clearance. Just don't overdue it.

    Think these will fit?

@Wrstewart Those are THE exact wheels I have. I've put them through some pretty tough stuff and was fine. I've even gone 50 mph on desert sand hitting a huge ditch that dented my FRO sump skid plate and the wheels are fine. 1 of the front wheel dented the barrel, but didn't have an issue driving...

Where'd you get the JLR SDD software from? You can DM if you don't feel comfortable posting it.

    Control arm fail

If anyone is seriously thinking about getting the Lucky8 HD kit, make sure you weld tabs to strengthen the top and bottom of the bushing body, especially towards the front. I got my Meyle HD LCAs and Inner Tie rods on yesterday, waiting for the alignment later on today. Lets hope this will...

    Control arm fail

Oh, this happened to me too with THE exact Lucky8 HD poly LCAs. I was out on an easy trail and the front RH LCA snapped on me at the exact same place pulling out the axle at the CV joint and pinched the air strut. I was lucky to have friends source the parts and travel 150 miles next day to get...

    LR4 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement?

You don't need to remove the AC compressor or any of the lines to do the valve cover gaskets. Different story if it's the exhaust manifold gaskets. If you're doing the valve cover gaskets, you're more than halfway through doing your timing guides and tensioners. If it's not already done.

Made an appointment for timing chain fix

As long as you feel comfortable with it and they guarantee the job, I wouldn't worry too much. Ask what kind of warranty they provide, looking for 3+ months, 1 year, or X miles warranty in writing. If there's no warranty, it's a crap shoot.

    Seeking Specialty Torque Wrench

That's such a specialized tool to have a hex head. The first thing I can think of is check in the biking world, I used to ride mountain bikes, and this popped into mind. https://www.topeak.com/us/en/product/316-D-TORQ-WRENCH You'll also need one that'll do at least 8 Nm according to the V8 5.0L...

Is this a failing crossover pipe?

I completely flushed out front and rear hvac till clear and switched to dexcool, simply for availability. Imagine having cooling issues deep in the middle of nowhere and somehow you dump a ton of coolant in +100*F weather. You only carry 1 gallon of coolant. Luckily a Jeep and I carry dexcool...

    Leaking timing cover repair

I have the same truck, so, I know from first hand experience doing it myself. I'd also suggest doing both LH and RH valve cover gaskets since rubber has a life expectancy, and it would suck to do it no too long after doing this one. You'll need to start with a cool engine. - Remove the engine...

    Oil extractor

I have an oil extractor, and I use it specifically for that. I'm about to redo my fluids again, but this time I picked up this little guy specifically to put fluid in.

    Leaking timing cover repair

Unfortunately, the correct answer is no. It's a valve cover gasket that needs to be replaced.

    Misfiring Cyl 2/4/6 ?? 2015 LR4

@scapistron I typically see individual or an entire bank misfire. For it to misfire between both banks is uncommon, but not unheard of. For oil to drip onto your plugs, it sounds like your spark plug and valve gaskets are starting to go. Have you tried smoke testing it? I'm guessing that could...

Front-end suspension rattle and banging is gone!

If you're doing the timing chain, there's a lot you can replace along the way. You'll probably be more meticulous than any mechanic by doing it yourself. I've done the timing chains myself and it's not terrible after doing it several times. I've even got the chains to fit so snug that there's...

What jack do you recommend to store in your trunk?

I carry a 2T and 8T bottle jack. Here's how I swap a single tire with a 2T bottle jack . 8T with 2x6 boards for everything else. Scissor jack as a backup.
