2016 LR4 - Rough idle but only when warm; worse when vehicle in reverse

If you're diy, it's easier to remove the bolts to the cats to move the cats aside to gain access to the upstream O2 sensors. It's even easier if you remove the cats, but getting bank 2 off/on is tricky. I highly recommend replacing the cat to exhaust manifold bolts. If it snaps, like mine, it'll...

    2013 LR4 5.0 Serpentine Belt issue

Are you replacing the ac compressor yourself? If so, make sure it comes with pag oil and replace the condenser too. It's not a bad job. I used to document stuff, but i tend to take 3x as long, so, I stopped just to "get er done".

    Alternator Fuse

I would put in the correct fuse and give it a go. Put a multimeter on it to check voltage on the battery terminals. Check grounding wires at both ends, especially under the wheel well, it's known to get corroded.

    lr4 fan clutch thread direction

I have a '11 LR4 HSE V8 and it's a left hand thread. So, spin it clockwise to get it off. I've taken the fan off countless number of times.

    Rear coolant line leak

I need to reroute those lines on the front passenger wheel well. Any tips or pictures?

LR4 5.0 V8 - recent timing chain service with 4 new camshaft adjusters - still seems somewhat noisy??

Yes, that's what I'm referring to. Going against all fundamentals, I found it easier to get the correct tension and marker alignment by removing the cam lock when setting timing. The first time around I strictly went by the workshop manual. After tens of thousands of miles before I had to rip...

    2011 LR4 gearbox/transmission

My first transmission, poured transmission fluid out of it. Not sure what happened, dealer said that it had a crack on the case. 2nd transmission, brand new from dealership, had a transmission cooling line rub up on my front diff until fluid spilled out of it. Field patched it. Drove it for a...

    2011 LR4 gearbox/transmission

I was quoted around $8k for a brand new transmission fitted by Land Rover San Diego (dealership). Insurance covered 80% of the cost and I paid 20% out of pocket. Around $2k with taxes and all that, so, $2k out of pocket isn't too bad for a new tranny. I'd suggest calling around other...

    Rear coolant line leak

Wow... That's a hard pass on letting them do it for that price. Take off the spare tire underneath and see where the leak is coming from. If you need the rear cooling line, I have one that you can have. I was about to junk mine.

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

If you go down that route @CRYA, I'll take that bumper off your hands. I need to counterbalance my rear.

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

I honestly don't recall how I mounted the windshield washer, BUT what if you milled out the washer bottle hole to snuggly fit the spacer into it? That would simply hold up the washer bottle, while the screws are securing the washer bottle.

    Upper control arm prices

You're right, I've always used a pitman arm puller. Sometimes there's enough tension (not by choice) that you can just tap the top of the knuckle with a medium purse (5 lbs sledge hammer), and it'll pop right off.

    Upper control arm prices

Nice find on the video. That's exactly where I was at... It's impossible for a regular joe like myself without the proper tools to torque it down. Is there a proper tool to torque it down in the weirdest position?

    Upper control arm prices

I've done my own upper ball joints and used this one from Amazon. You can rent them from Autozone or any parts stores nowadays, but I wanted my own set.

Has anyone tried doing the front ucas themselves? If so, how do you get the bolts off and torque it down to spec?

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

Use a spray bottle with soapy water and spray everything to check if there's bubbles to truly tell if theres any leaks. I typically raise/lower the vehicle while in motion. I don't like the amount of stress and unnecessary wear on the tires on pavement while stationary.

    Refueling out on the trail

Maybe I should have gone with the standard spout vs the flexible spout. Maybe I'm pouring it out wrong too. I have it right side up, sideways, or upside down with my metal flex spout and it doesn't matter which direction, it takes forever. As fuel comes out air goes in, and doesn't allow a fast...

    Refueling out on the trail

With all the break/fix posts, I thought I'd post something different. How is everyone refueling out on the trail? I'd love to get a Long Range permanent fuel tank, but can't justify over $2k on it and I've been thinking about this since 2015. I used Wavian (jerry) fuel cans and I really hated...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

You seriously missed out on the Black Friday sales on Lucky8, it was $448. The cheaper alternative is Autel AP200, it's another alternative that does a few things like suspension calibration, register new key, and some other minor things besides the basic code reading/clearing, live values...

2012 LR4 Reluctant to lower from off-road suspension mode

Try recalibrating your suspension. If you have extension rods on your height sensors, swap them back to oem, and recalibrate your suspension with the Gap IID Tool.
