Sudden Hissing near Valve Cover (5.0 V8)

It's very common that the pcv valves go bad and have a hole in them. Just get 2x LR133579, cheap ones on Amazon are fine too. As for your brake issue, you might want to check your brake pedal switch XKB500110. Not sure if that's the cause of your click, but the truck will do funny things with...

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

1st transmission was from factory and had a crack on it and dumped fluid. 2nd transmission was brand new dealership installed, but these idiots left the oil cooling line dangling on top of the front diff and was slowly losing fluid for however long. Found a puddle of gender neutral fluid while...

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

My observation from driving both is the zf8 has closer gear ratios and has more efficient shifting points. I care about the 2 mpgs, especially when I'm getting 10-12 mpg from mix city and freeway driving. On sand/dirt/off road, I average 7-9 mpgs.

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

Knock on wood that my 3rd zf6 holds. This is definitely an option and I'd thought I'd share!

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

A shop in Denver, CO, Roadside Werx, created a zf6 to zf8 swap kit. Just sharing and not promoting anything. Here's what they posted in the FB group I'm in. Hey Guys, there was a ton of interest in our ZF8 Transmission swap so we have put together a kit to do it. So far the results of this...

    Bad ECM or something else?

Hmm, didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me. I guess I'm just referring to my 5.0 LR4. my thermostat doesn't have any electrical plugs on it. The nearest thing is the temp sensor.

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

The '14 and up SCV6 3.0s have the updated timing chain guides, BUT it's still an issue. At one point "they" were reengineering a new design, but gave up on it and just decided it was cheaper to do a recall. If you also look at it this way, the recall were for '12-'14 and the '14s had the newer...

    Online Service Manual

Recently found and wanted to share this free online workshop manual for almost every NA market vehicle between 1982 and 2013, including the '11-'13 LR4s. I find it helpful with most repairs and part numbers.

    Bad ECM or something else?

Not sure what you mean about "electric auxiliary coolant pump" or "electric thermostat". Overheating, sounds like you may have air pockets in your cooling system. These trucks are extremely difficult to get all the air out of the block. The internal cooling system is mechanical with rotating...

    2015 LR4 coolant leak

From the sounds of it, it's the rear crossover pipe. And while you're at it, you should change out the front crossover pipe as well. On these trucks, plastic has a limited life span and they will crack after a couple of years. I believe there are some aluminum ones, but I'm not sure about...

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

There's 2 distinct sounds, at the beginning you hear both at the same time, and at the 0:24 second mark you hear the lighter ticking sound (injectors). I'm pretty sure the other sound is the timing chain slop. Tell your buddy not to drive it and get the timing chains done before he needs a new...

    Tire sizes

I'm pretty sure the door card recommended psi ratings are optimized for fuel economy ratings/performance, traction, and air ride quality. It really doesn't matter what size tire you have, every tire shop will still utilize the suggested door card psi. It's safe to use close to those psi ratings...

    2012 LR4 - Diagnosing two separate vibrations

I second this! Did this a 2 years ago and it helps with the vibration. You'll have to tap that part of the transfer case. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2013-lr4-weird-humming-noise.30757/post-239237

    Thoughts on these spark plugs?

Those numbers are extremely high. You should probably smoke test your system and remediate any leaks. I found out that my entire intake manifold was leaking even with new gaskets. I didn't feel like buying a new or used intake manifold, so I simply grind the metal spacers down evenly for all of...

    Throttle body coolant line mystery

The pipe runs to the rear crossover pipe that connects to both heads. Which helps fill the block from the rear and gets just enough coolant into the block to complete the coolant circulation, but it does NOT completely get all the air out of the system. You'll still have to burp the system. 2-3...

    stainless steel brake lines

The rear comes in a kit with both inner/outer ss lines and hardware, full replacement to all rubber lines. The front is single ss line per side with hardware in its kit. Again, I did mine back in 2017 if I remember correctly.
