    Another Defender hint?

Could not agree more. This is what you get under the current lead(s) there, just plain ridiculous. Also, have no idea who they think they are fooling with all that marketing hype for the stock Defender being an offload with that crossover type monocoque chassis.

    LR4...the best. Still

Unfortunately, the new Defender will never be able to offer the same ride quality/attributes and drive characteristics as LR3/4 simply due to the lack of IBF. It may be a very nice and taut drive, but the fact is the new Defender can never offer that carved-out-of-stone, built like a tank...

Curious what my '16 landmark w/HD (and cooler box, adaptive lighting, etc) with 14k is worth currently. Whats a good side to run the numbers, Kelly' blue book? Thx.

Have had really bad pre-sale and service experience with these guys, had to mention to an LR exec at the LA auto show. Went to these guys back in '11 or '12 to purchase an LR4 after owning an '06 LR3 for six years (braving it for two years out of warranty), it was like if these guys were not...

    Another Defender hint?

I get it, I live in LA. But I'd never ever pay such amounts over MSRP, purely based on principle, even if I was a millionaire and could easily afford to overpay. I may however do so for an incredibly well-designed, non-volume product with a short production run knowing that its costing the...

    Ridic.

    Period :)

    Another Defender hint?

Ha. If I was a millionaire, I prolly would have done that for real and stocked every single part down to a single rivet/screw in some temperature controlled facility.

Cant believe this is a near fifteen year old design. Still current/modern and beautiful, clean and minimalist.

    Another Defender hint?

You'd think, that, the nav system/interface would be one of those things in an LR vehicle (a mode of transportation inspired and designed from the ground up, as at least the claim is, to go where others can't and with ease) that would not only be top notch and miles ahead from the rest from...

    Another Defender hint?

Same nonsense Hummer H2 like higher belt line (restricting outward visibility and killing the open feel of command view seating position) and then that dreaded tapering roof line like the current RR, RRS, and D5, killing any potential of presence/substance. You can get our design lead(s) here...

The Quest for A Durable Front Crossover Pipe

Sadly, and specially with the absence of any interesting products that would still force me to be onboard, the above observation is most likely going to be the main reason for me to part ways with LR after my LR4.

The Quest for A Durable Front Crossover Pipe

:) Dear LR, please take notice... $$$ spent on printing glossy marketing mailers, telling the owners how good your " genuine" OEM parts are, maybe better spent actually developing better/stronger/durable parts with a life span of more than the warranty time of four years. Its plain ridic that...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Also, for rims I personally prefer concave design over the convex. Concave gives a bit aggressive look imho and it keeps the rim' metal well tugged in inside the tire' inner circumference vs protruding outward in the center or around the hub, hence keeping the rim a bit safer in certain...

Yes indeed, but if I could, would love to avoid spacers.

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Your LR3 looks like it is in excellent condition :) Have always loved the design of those particular OEM 18" rims, aggressive and elegant looking at the same time, sort of complimenting the truck' personality itself. Wish compomotive or someone else came out with a similar design in 18" for LR4.

Exact feelings here. Had a bit of a chat with one of the prod specialists at the LA auto show last year stating the same thoughts. Trouble is Toyota hasn't been designing the LCs and its Lexus versions for the NA market anymore. They sell a lot more of these in the Asian and middle eastern...

    Another Defender hint?

Really? Thats a bit disappointing, always hoped for LR3/4 to be slightly bigger (wider to be exact) than what it currently is.

    Another Defender hint?

Yes, by orig I mean the first one, didn't know that it was called series I, and then II and III, so thank you for that information. And the evolution of series I to II to III and then to Defender as you point out makes the point that I was trying to make. They all were evolutions of their...

    Another Defender hint?

Liking the simplicity in the head lamp and its surrounding area, will give them a bit more time relatively speaking before start looking dated. But the absence of real bumper is a bummer. The fender runs all the way to the front, prone to dings etc without having any protection up front.

    Another Defender hint?

Two possible reasons that I can think of: The process of slow-trickling of images of a highly anticipated (at least in the world of press) and supposedly a make or break product for LR as some say could have some dampening effect if the re-design is too radical (in either direction) for some...

I am not despising it either, just commentating on the motivation for its design' direction. Both steering and the dash remind me of general dash designs from the eighties but being updated with the latest tech (screens, knobs, etc.) and material.

    Another Defender hint?

Looking at the pics under the camo and now the interior/dash, the following is just my personal take on the prevailing design philosophy here, incase if one currently exists at LR, that is :) Looking at this thing from various angles in the pix as well as the undercarriage, what I see is this...

    Another Defender hint?

Indeed. Now with almost every physical control parameter, specially the steering, being managed by electronics, anything, a little module, a sensor, or a capacitor, could decide to send that zero or one in a different direction than what was originally intended by the driver :), specially in a...
