    Long crank, no faults

As weather began to get colder I started to notice that my car would occasionally take longer to crank over. Can’t find any correlation or connection between weather and how long it cranks, seems to be more of a random occurrence and usually on the first start of the day but didn’t have issues...

    Failing alternator?

Ok so I’ve got some more weird variations in the votage. Upon starting in snow conditions the voltage tents to sit at 12-12.4. The votage tends to go right up to 13-14 as soon as the car is moved or the engine is reved but the votage likes to sit low when stationary and upon cold start. Is that...

    Front Sway bar endlink advice

Ok good, I was mainly concerned with tire wear.

    Front Sway bar endlink advice

Had my front sway bar endlinks done about 35k miles ago yet I noticed some seepage coming from the top bushing that connects to the upper control arm on the front left endlink. If I get my finger inside of where the rubber folds over myself I can feel the inside of the link. Checked for play in...

Engine revs high upon start up

How much above 1500 and how many seconds? On every cold start that my car has it idles at 1500 to get the oil circulated and then drops down <1k rpms. All of our trucks should do that.

    2011 LR4 gearbox/transmission

I paid $3500 for a rebuild on my transmission with 138k CI, I would never pay 13,500 however since your really only paying 2k for it and your getting a completely new one shipped to you I’d say that’s pretty fair unless this “warranty company” raises your rates. Thing is when shops rebuild a...

    Landrovermerriamparts.com gone?

    TPMS settings with IID tool

I was going to do this but there was a time where the TPMS light actually saved me when a nail went through my nitto ridge grapplers which also still had 50% tread life left. My car started pulling to the right after I heard “something” (the nail) hit my rock rail. Noticed a lean and thought I...

    TPMS settings with IID tool

Got it, my 2010 runs 315mhz. I read another forum abt someone with the same issue as me so I know which sensors to buy.

    Upper control arm prices

I asked both of the reputable places and both said no. I’ll keep searching but I’m probably going to be getting it done Monday for 1400 unless that’s a bad price.

    Upper control arm prices

(Update) talked to the guys at one of the shops and they said they could give me 1400 out the door for alignment and everything. Still not super psyched about the cost but less is less.

    Upper control arm prices

Gotta get my front upper control arms done, 2 shops want to charge me near 1600ish with a 4 wheel alignment included. I live in Southern California but, Is that reasonable? My lower control arms were around 1000 maybe 1200 with an alignment. Thanks!

    Showoff Your LR4

Unpopular opinion, Santorini Black is the best looking color for this car. Even after 140K miles Santorini Black still shines this good. Ceramic coating was done about a year ago. Sure it’s a pain in the ass to deal with, gets dirty within 3 days, makes the car a sauna when sitting in the sun...

    Defender vs. Mazda mx5.

yup, although the looks don't Do the job that defender is a tank when it comes to safety

    Defender vs. Mazda mx5.

Not surprised. Even tho it was a CX5 I bet an MX5 could do it too. Anything hit with that type of force and direct axle to axle contact going 80mph is going to roll. Plus the defenders skinnier wheels and high center of gravity don’t help it once one side is off the ground.

205,000 miles and about to service transmission question.

I don’t think this would be too big of an issue if you just swapped to the dial on the 8 speed. I would rather have the shifter but I’d take it over the zf6 slush box. A guy that I watch who has an L320 stage 2 supercharged sport lives down in russia and says that he knows people down there who...

205,000 miles and about to service transmission question.

Agreed, I’ve never been a fan of the 6 speed in these trucks. If Someone ever figures out how to swap the 8 speed in with the 5.0L I’d do that in a heart beat. These trucks would be a bit quicker and a bit more efficient if they had the 8 speed mated to the 5.0L

Huge thanks to this forum. Land Rover has as new home.

My Santorini black LR4 is ceramic coated and it looks amazing. Shines like brand new every time it gets washed. One of the prettiest colors IMO

    Failing alternator?

Yup, I’m on my 4th battery myself since 2010 but have never replaced an alternator before. To my surprise tho when I was experiencing this low voltage everything was functioning properly and non of the lights were dim nor did I get any faults or warning lights. So my question is should I be...

    Failing alternator?

Was up in Santa Clarita with my buddy that owns a 4Runner TRD Pro doing a little night time off roading. We were out there for around 5 hours and since it was night I had my high beams, fog lights (you can make it so you can turn both on at the same time via IID tool) and my big light bar all...

    Diagnosing AC Trouble

funny Enough is I’ve had this issue before too. It used to happen a lot after I replaced my compressor, then a year later it froze up and tore my serpentine belt because of “metal flakes going through the condenser filter” so the condenser was replaced along with the belt and the compressor for...

    IID/Gap Tool

Yup, could be a PDTC (permanent diagnostic trouble code). PDTC are often things like evap codes and your evap system sensors haven’t reset yet. it might help if you tell us the code to see if it is a PDTC.

Is this a factory display unit?

It is just a low spec. It’s not even an HSE. That is super rare for an NAS model, first one I’ve ever seen here.
